Jeeez.
Touring cars are raced on Asphalt and on Carpet. With rubber tires and with foam tires. Thatīs about that. It all count!
One thing that might scare some off, is the 1 final rule. With 2 out of 3, I think this race would be even bigger. But that wouldnīt make it Snowbirds, right?

The two manufacturers that give the most love to carpet racers (XRay and Corally) have the most winners at a big carpet race. Where's the surprise in that? Yea, Rheinhard won in Vegas... using a thick chassis other people can't buy (yet). Of course nobody is running Tamiya on carpet, they don't want to be at a disadvantage using a flexible car.
Apparently there's money to be made from the US carpet racing market. Apparently only two manufacturers (both non-US) currently get it.

Syndrome- I think Losi also gets it. They travel a good size team to all the big carpet races. But I agree with you the other manufacturers don't seem to show carpet much "love" and don't get it back from the racers. I've had 3 Xrays over the past few years and think the world of them.

i gotta say,all brands of cars looked really awesome out there.the T2 looked flawless,as did the new Mi2 EC,Tamiya,corally,TC4,all different brand 1/12th cars.todays cars i feel are really well thought out and designed to do any style racing whether its carpet or asphalt.all of these same cars looked just as good at the 05 onroad nats down here.Xray and corally do seem to have the bigger stronger teams at this time but i think the other teams are working on it.its obvious that if you have a team of 15 or 20 top level drivers running 1 type of car, they have a real good chance of getting a bunch of em in the show.when i see that different brand cars are all capable of running lap times so close together with different people driving them,it shows me that at the end of the day they are pretty damn awesome.

I just got back from the Birds today, Jason is right, I think if you put any of the top level drivers in the current top cars out there today (Xray, Corally, HPI, Schumacher, Losi, ect.) that they would all be fast. Just look at the lap times on the results, they can all run within a tenth or two of each other. I comes down the being cosistent on carpet I think. It's a whole different animal than asphalt
Still had fun though

I have also seen limits on how many racers a race will take.(250 I think) I don't think that there's a limit at the snowbirds because you can race 24hrs.....any of you know it all's take that into consideration? The sun isn't out 24hrs a day On asphalt I'm sure that the Reedy Race would probably be the only race that would keep up with the bigger carpet races as far as entries go.
