There were only 2 broken cars today. Me, and one guy who demolished the left c hub and left knuckle....it was a glancing blow on the boards....pretty high speed though, but would not have thought it would have done that much damage.......................

For those of you who are moving up from an '05, did you run with the motor guard and does it really protect the motor? I think it would provide protection against corner dots from the bottom...

I am moving up from an '04 so I am starting from scratch.

I have the T2 on order along with:

Multi-diff - Us So-Cal guys like our one-ways!
One-way Lube - Gotta keep the multi-diff working smooth.
Motor guard - Debating this...
Xray 30 wt shock oil - My LHS only sells Losi and AE oil and that bottle that comes with the kit is tiny!
87t 48p spur - One spur isn't enough and this is the largest that can be used without it hanging below the chassis.

For anyone looking to play with the width of the T2 ( or have a issue with the how foams fit the front of the car) I came across this XRAY shim set that works better then planned.

Part # is 96 4030 ( Washer S 3.5x12x0.2 ) the inside diameter perfectly matches the threads on the axles with no slop the outside perfectly matches the hex. Each shim is .2mm thick so it allows you very fine adjustment with width putting one on each side increases the width by 1/2 a mm. 10 shims come to a pack.

take care

To actually SEE a tweak in the chassis tells me that it had to be a much harder hit then a "Glancing blow"
I would also suspect that the car sustained more damage.
If the tweak is that bad...all you should have to do is relax the screws on the top deck and chassis then tighten them back up.
I will be surprised if you can get the screws loose with that kind of bind in the chassis though....
I pounded a guy with my 05 in Cleveland. When I tried to get the screws out of the top deck...the screws were actually seized in due to the bind.Had to cut the top deck off!!! Thankfully there was NO other damage.
As I said, I POUNDED the other car so some damage was to be expected.

How are you guys breaking in your diffs? Are you running them as they come and tightening them as they loosen up and break in?

As with al new diff's or rebuilds I always run them in and them gently tighten them after each couple of runs/rounds.

Going to start building my car soon, are there any tips from drivers who've raced theirs regarding the transfer of FK'05 setups to the T2? Just wondering if anyone has tried to 'match' their old setup and if this has worked, or if you've started fresh with the recommended setup from the included setup sheets?

TIA

Its pretty similar geometry wise, but springs/oils need changing.
