I ran my T2 for the first time today all I can say is AWESOME!I had not raced for about 9 months.I put the foam set up on the car for 19 turn. I arrived a little late and only put 1 1/2 packs thru the car.The 1st heat I set TQ by 2 laps things went so well I did not run the 2nd heat and just waited for the main.Car is super stable I never pushed the car to it's limit I just tried to be smooth and not break. In the main I won by 2 laps.I did not do any work on the car all nigh long I am going to take it out the next practice day and fine tuning the handling.Great Job Xray on a great car!

I won't get the chance to run the new car until next weekend, so I took some time today to rig up a fan mount. I built the entire mount thin with the goal of keeping it lightweight. The aluminum strips bend but support the fan just fine.

I've heard that the Xray team drivers used half filled shocks at the DHI cup. How is that possible.
Btw. Was at the Dhi. AWESOME...

Maybe I'm not good enough!!
Advantages of Futaba are size, weight, and price

Dual rate, to put it simply, is a simultaneous end point adjustment.

With your DR set at 100%, set you end points on the radio so the servo just has enough travel to fully lock the steering knuckle against the carriers.

Or maybe you would want to set that with the DR set at 110%, then back it off a hair.

So, when traction is low, you can decrease DR to limit the travel of the servo in both directions the same ammount. Also, if traction is high and you need more steering you can turn the DR back up.

Off course, don't you?

We heard that Marc Rheinard doesn't allways rebuild his shocks often enough and that he therefore sometimes runs with one or more half full shocks. Since it works for him...

Seriously speaking though, no we ran with 30w oil and 4 holes open. Some like Jilles ran 35w with 3 holes but then with the holes drilled to 1.2mm as we have sometimes done in the past. Jilles and I ran with just under 100% of rebound (no air ).

Hey Cameron,

From what I have been told it will be near the end of January...probably another 10 days to 2 weeks.

Why, did you break something???

I guess the best thing about it is the fact you can change the setup fast... we played with roll centers, kick up, anti dive, anti squat etc. in about 1/2 the time it would have taken with the 05... so its easier to get dialed in at the track.... and the fact that with in a few hours we had it running faster than the 05....on the other hand... parts support sucks

Just got back from the track. First day out with it.....

Good news..

I went faster with this car than I ever did with any other xray
very durable
Team Tamale already has nice looking c hubs and steering knuckles. Kind of sad aftermarket parts are already out but spares are not.
Easier to work on
Easy to drive fast

Bad news..

The car tweaks like a mother....Im not kidding, It was so bad in my first race I had to pull the car because I couldn't adjust enough on the radio
That was the first qual
second it got tweaked and I drove it 5 laps, hit a flapper, and became tweaked again. Instead of adjusting on radio I manually turned the wheel everywhere I went to get it to run straight. That was until I hit the other side and it untweaked itself.
Third race I didn't hit anything and it showed. Same with the big show.
Screws started to come out...I know, use locktite
Using a setup station became twice as hard because of the nuts

Overall..

Dont get this one if you have an 05 fully decked out until they fix the tweak issue. You can be within a 10th of a sec. with a good 05 car. This is especially true with non EXPERT drivers. They will be able to get more out of this car than an 05 so rookies, keep what you got. Great car for the above average driver though.

OK... here is what broke on my car... had some contact with a lapped car and got bumped into the wall (plywood)... not a big hit but the rear tower broke. If you look at the broken side you can see there isn't a lot of material diagonally between the holes that the break went through. Interesting part is that the only other T2 at the track broke the same tower with the break looking exactly like this one.
