Regarding your against argument and the example you gave you are right only if you have in mind TC3. When they introduced the TC4 there are 3 revisions already (1 is FT)

HPI/HB, Tamiya, Yokomo have 2 cars that they change every year

Good or bad right or wrong are launching new cars every year.

But as someone else already said, no one is forcing us to buy it (yeah right like I won't buy it )

How come no one complains when the real car company changes the cars from year to year???? or adds a new model?

As far as the AE car goes YES it was domminate for many years in a row. But there was realy no contenders that could dethrone it. so now with in the last 3 to 4 years other manufactorers have stepped up to the plate and have come up with some outstanding cars and are winning races with them.

Bottom line is That if they dont come out with a new car then why stay in bussiness. The choice is yours (the racer) to embrace the new or stay with the old. Why cry about it???

i think if i had a fk05 ,and had to sell it for 150$ in a few months,id be pretty upset.i think its kool companys work to make the greatest new thing every year.but its our fault that it would ever be a problem, becouse once that car hits the streets the 05 will be useless in most our eyes and no one will want it ,thats the only problem i see, oh and the other is i was seriuously looking to get the 05,but now im not sure i wanna invest in it ,and have to sell it for 120$ just to get it gone like my raced twice ft tc3 i got last winter

I think with the car having a brand new suspension design and such, it might be time for a T2

Wink

having dumped a small fortune into my fk05 over the past several months, and knowing the release history of x-ray, i full well expected to either need substantial upgrades or a new kit within 9-15 months after purchase (june '05). that being said, while i have been happy with my fk05, racing once-twice a month is hard to justify the cost (to me) of owning an x-ray vs. something like an associated in my desire to have the 'latest and greatest' version of what i'm running.

i believe the staying power was one of the reasons for the tc3's success, while the frequent turnover is one of the biggest obstacles that a tamiya or yokomo face with most consumers and hobby shops. x-ray has really made some inroads into the north american sedan market. they have an opportunity to establish themselves in the league of a losi/associated in terms of parts availability, however annual product line turnover is probably going to keep many shops, and hobbyists, from investing.

who am i kidding, i'll probably pony up just like every other sucker!

the thing is...if its not a better car, none of us will want it...if it is better, why wouldnt you want it.....but either way, it doesnt change how good the 04 and 05 have been, so why would buying it make anyone a sucker???

That would be redundant.

If there is a new car it will more then likely appear as the other 2 have done at the Snowbirds. Those 2 being the FK04 and 05.

Later,

When are the Birds? I was planning on getting an 05 but now I guess I'm just going to have to wait for the new 06.
