The most common thing seems to be, The Evo IV runs better indoors as most shafties do. The 415 works better outdoors. The EVO IV being shaft works better with super stock and stock motors, the 415 being belt works better with modifieds

Don't know about the Indoor/Outdoor thing, especially as 415 has won many of those type of events. But anyway, the main thing is like you said, the Evo4 is GREAT for Stock racing, perhaps even 19 Turn. The 415 is the better car for Modified racing. All the TRF Japanese guys say that as well, including Rheinard.

You could look at this as shaft versus belt drive. I find that shaft drive cars tend to eat spools and one ways and other parts because the drive train is soo locked up. Belt drive cars that I have used do not break the drive train parts like shaft drives do.

If you drive a Tamiya its nice not to break pasrts as they are hard to find and if you find parts they usually have to be ordered. Just my experience.

I agree with everyone here. I have both cars and the Evo runs faster with a stock motor, and the 415 is better with a 19 Turn or Stock motor.

I've owned both and run mostly stock. In the end I kept the 415. the EVO could run a faster single lap time, but didn't have the consitancy that my 415 does. I had to choose one of the two and I went with the 415, but in the end its your choice, and my EVO didn't strip gears with a spool like everyone else seems to have problems with, but even properly shimmed the front gears were just worn out after only one day of racing, but not stripped just worn. So I never had a problem with finishing a race.
