Default LRP Quantum vs Q2

what is the main difference between the new one and the old one. is it really worth the $40 for the diffence you can buy the Q1 over the Q2?

any input would help. trying to figure out if its worth the money for a Q2 or grab a Q1 and put the rest into somthing else.

There may be other changes such as lower resistance and new MOSFET's but the biggest change is the reactive frequency that automatically adjusts as you drive.
If you are a new driver, you won't notice the difference. If you are seasoned, IMO, I'd go with the Q2.

You may want to try the Q3 now that it's out.

personally I run Tekin but I ran q2's for several years with decent luck until this past year when I had three go up in smoke.

i have never had a LRP i currently use a novak TC2 and a hara twister 2.

though i do know that the LRP Quantum series does have a blow up problem. i saw 2 of them blow up on one car during our last enduro. i was running a car with a GT7 or GTX i cant remember... and we had no problems.

but seeing how i drive alot of stock and 19t this Q3 and it profile for stock and 19t seem to be the way to go.

I had a Quantum Comp..
on it's first day of use...after 3min into my practice lap..
it went up in smoke.
no more LRP for me...
the new Tekin G11 pro is nice...
many moons ago I ran the G10pro..great speedo.
reliable. no caps or diodes to solder.
the only problem I heard about the new G11's is supply enough
voltage for use with digital servos. Some racers say they have
no problems...

Default blow up

We have 2-q2's and 2-q1's....
we did have 1 Q1 go up in flames but it was our fault...
the batteries shorted out after I was t-boned at full speed...
saddle pack in an xray....ANY speedo could of blown that day!!!!!
Overall, I like my Q1's better than the Q2's!!!!!!!
Buy the Q1 and start racing while u save up for a KO vfs-1

The QC3 is not out yet. The Associated website says early December, but I'll beleive that when I see it. In the past for their top of the line ESC's, NOSRAM will have their version out first for 1-2 months prior to LRP 's version being available!

The NOSRAM version (Razor Evolution) of the QC3 has not yet been released.

I hope it is available in early December though (my QC2's are getting a little long in the tooth).

If you are making a decision on an ESC, please do not base your decision on someone who says that they had a QC2 and 2 laps into the first run it blew up!
Keep in mind that regardless of what brand ESC you buy, they will all blow up if hooked up incorrectly!!

I have never seen an ESC "blow up" that was actually hooked up correctly. There was a lot of people complaining about the QC2 blowing up on this forum when they first came out. I know 2 of the guys and there was countless other complaints at my LHS. I saw about 6 blow up my self and every single one of them were hooked up incorrectly.

I hae 4 LRP QC2's. 3 of them were from the first shippment into the US and they have been performing flawlessly since the day I got them!

Just buy a brand name ESC and you'll be fine. This is one area where I recommend spending as much as you can afford!
