Yeah Adrian, that's what I was thinking too....good thing winter carpet only allows us to use TQ. That's why when I tried to boil it in the summer for the kids, it was outside on the BBQ grill, we use Paragon in the summer.

We used to have the tires mounted on a Cross 12 Spoke nylon rim but the experienced racers were unhappy because the rim would flex too much and get wobbly in a crash. We switched to a better performing stiff ABS rim and now the fast guys are happy but the beginners are unhappy because they break. We will find a middle ground so everyone can just rip open a bag, bolt the wheels on and race.

I just wanted to let you guys know that we are listening to you. I have sent a link to this thread to Take Off and we are asking them to work on a more beginner friendly rim.

boiled it again, this time for a longer period.. say 30mins, but still!!! i gave up. i'll just keep this aside. i'm now putting together some powers22 with hara hard inserts on speedmind impact master rims.

i say these RP's are mounted great on poor quality rims, on the positive side, at least the rim absorbed much of the impact instead of it being transferred to my front suspension

I have done it on one set of pre mounted tires. Mainly I do that method on offroad tires. I have alot more offroad tires than onroad.
