I used the Square brace for the Reedy race this year. It seems to provide more consistency from the chassis (did lighten the spring/oil set-up due to the increased stiffness)

The car is also much less apt to tweek as a result of the twisting that can occur when using the plastic brace.

2.6 guys back me up. How do u attach the square center post to your evo3. and where do u attach it?? looks like it wouldnt fit.

2.6? i dont think so... they are 3mm just like all the tamiya diffs- ta04, 414, 415...

3mm??? the 2.6 is in reference to the internal gear ratio.

whoops.. thats what i get for going back and forth between the 415 and evo forums. someone there asked diff ball sizes...

The square brace(s) replace the stock plastic back bone in the center of the chassis.

Madjack - Could you post your setup for the Reedy this year, and a list of hopups you ran. I would be interested in pics if possible. I'm in Arizona where Tamiya doesn't exist. Any support is appreciated. Thanx alien too!

Pretty basic set-up:

Blue 3mm upgrade chassis kit
counter sunk upper deck w/ Square center brace
Speedtech hardened steel spool
geared 96/44,
e brush, niftech springs - 11.5+, 11.2-
Mazda 6

Front:
C, A blocks
40wt, 2 hole, Assoc. blue
3mm droop, Worlds sway bar - Yellow
4.5mm ride height
long camber links, 6mm spacers
-1' camber

Rear:
A, C blocks
30wt, 2 hole, Assoc. Silver
2.5mm droop, red sway bar
5mm ride height
med. camber link, 3mm spacers
Alloy rear hubs, outside hole
-1.5 camber

Madjack- that looks like a great setup!! I'm going to try it on our local parking lot races. My soft asphalt setup is very similar but I ran yellow Tamiya springs and red swaybars (less traction and no sugar water)
