No idea about the gear diff, but the other guy used the metal outdrive Kyosho ball diff.

I decided to pick up one these BSR mRage kits to run at 5280 Raceway in Denver CO. We have a 96x42 foot CRC black carpet track with pretty high grip. A few of us thought this would be a fun class to run and might bring in some newer people with the lower price point on the kit.

Will keep you guys posted on how it is going.

Available on the Phat Bodies website (I can't post a link or an image for some stupid reason)

I been looking at all of the awesome MRage cars on here, and decided to post a pic of mine. It has an ABC Hobby BRE Datsun body. So far I like the car a lot, and haven't really had any problems with it. The only thing I did was when building it, I disassembled all of the pre-assembled sub assemblies (shocks, diffs, outdrives) and added the appropriate grease and oil. If only I could race this in VTA!

Anyone tried the M.Rage as FWD?

We race in with Tamiya M07's that use a 21t Saturn motor. We run a Mabuchi 27t in our M.Rage's to even out the performance but they're getting a bit funny about us! Silly really, because the M.Rage is certainly not as fast with this motor.

So yea, interested if anyone has ran as FWD?

I'm curious as to how good the M.Rage's stock tires are for black(?) carpet and asphalt? I got a set for my M-05 to use as cheap practise tires. Not that the Tamiya tires are exactly expensive, but the M.Rage pre-glued tire+wheels+inserts were under 12 for the set so I couldn't resist while I was ordering other stuff. I suppose this question would've made more sense prior to the purchase...

Well since you already have them you may as well try them to see what you think. I've never driven on carpet, but I can say the stock tyres are pretty awful on the asphalt track I normally run on. They're also a smaller diameter to the Tamiya tyres so reset your ride height and droop.

Yeah I was just curious, I'm not sure when I can get to the track next time. The diameter seems roughly the same as the "classic" slicks at least - slightly less at the edges of the tire but slightly more at the middle. Didn't compare to the 60D radials, haven't driven with those yet either.

Yeah Tamiya does have some 55mm tyres but basically nobody uses them. I assumed you meant 60D when you said Tamiya.

On the advice of RotorTruck in a different thread, I ordered the replacement ball diff from HobbyKing in the hope they'd mess up the order and send a gear diff.

The gamble paid off

Australia. RotorTruck who tipped me off probably ordered from one of the USA warehouses.
