While we're at it, what about the USGT rules that say "Grinding of tire tread is NOT permitted..Sanding of mold seam to remove seam is allowed". Guys are running these tires worn down to pretty much not having any tread left on them. Unlike most tires, the thinner they get the faster they are.
Maybe you buy a set from Lex/CTS run them for each race event and CTS collects them after each event and hands them back out again at the next series race. That way they're only used for the CTS event(s). If the tires wear out to the point where they can't be used again then you have to buy another set from CTS. Throw your tires in a zip lock bag with your name on it and hand them in to CTS. It's about the only way you can police the potential abuse of the rules. We thought about doing this for the UF1 series a while back.

up the race fee a tad, one new (marked) set for each event. these actually work surprisingly well for a premount brand new out the package. no reason to have a fresh set for every run, especially since they get better as you run them.

or reduce the price of the usgt class to offset the need to buy the one set.. just food for thought here.

I have no intentions on running the entire series so I wont be investing in tires or have to worry about the longterm effects on my wallet and/or chances of winning the title., but it is a race that I want to join in since its coming thru town. sounds like fun.

so I'm speaking as a racer who has participated in other series similar and the potential 'grey areas' of an advantage..

Attention Racers: Just to keep things friendly and fair for the popular USGT class. Tires will be sold at the track and must be purchased on racedays. USGT tires will also receive the same tech protocols as TC.

For practice you can purchase tires from theses two resources.

I only used one set of Gravity tires for the whole series last year. If you mark the race tires. We should be able to use them at future CTS events. By the way. There weren't any known cheaters last year at the CTS events. If people really think they have to cheat to win a toy car race. They have some mental issues.

Attention Racers;

Regarding Pit Spacing. It will be on a first come first serve basis Saturday morning. "Early Bird gets the worm" Racers are not allowed to save pit spots prior to CTS Round 1. Assigned seating for Sponsors will be enforced Friday night. Please bring Tarps, Tables, Chairs, Extension cords and possibly a portable generator.
TQ Hobbies has a total of 61 spots inside so make sure to come prepared for this Big Race.

Default Rain

65% chance of rain Sunday. If it's anything like the rains we've had the last couple of weekends pitting outside not possible. What's your plan B?

Paying online is the best way to do it. You will not get your membership number immediately, but you will get a receipt that can be used as your temporary membership card. Your permanent card will arrive within a week.

TQ is a ROAR track so they should be able to handle your ROAR sign up. But always best to deal directly with ROAR.

Lex - Payment just made via Pay Pal to you for my two classes entered. Thank you for the address.

Rick - Sean said had to register through ROAR, could not register at the track so will take your advice and do online direct to ROAR. Thanks for the tip.
