Default Tamiya Group C cars...

Hey there,

With the re-release by Tamiya of the Mercedes C11, Jaguar XJR-12, and the Mazda 737B Group C kits, I was wondering how many of you either have them already or are considering buying one?

A friend of mine hopes to see these become a spec class but I was wondering about the general interest in these cars. I know that Tamiya is very well known for their detail in bodies so these kits should be no exception.

I use to run the C11 back in the mid 90's at the Burien Toyota track in Washington state. These cars are so realistic. I plan on getting the Jag....and will run it in TCS if there is a class. Too bad about the old 2wd F-1 cars....they were so realistic in looks and the way they drove. I think Tamiya made a mistake when they dicontinued them. I ran it at TCS...but quit when the 4wd cars came out.

Count me in, especially if this becomes a 2006 TCS class. SpeedTech RC sold out of them in like two days and there's an amazing amount of interest in seeing these cars back on the track. Are you listening, Mr.Medel?

I'd like to buy one, but who knows how long they will be around for? I'd really like to see the old FF series come back with the Accords, Mondeos, Golfs, Civics, etc.

I have a lot of respect for Tamiya re-releasing their discontinued products.

Does anyone have any chassis pictures or pictures of the bodies?

Im waiting on the Mazda 787B, now thats a beautiful car. I agree about the 2wd Tamiya cars. The f103 was seriously the most fun to drive out of any cars ive driven. I reluctantly raced the f201, but was a pain to setup, and fragile. Ive heard that the Group C chassis are a class here in Canada for the 2006 TCS. Hopefully for you guys in the US also. Ill grab a Mazda when they come in thats steve

That Jag looks SO DIALLED!! If Tamiya adds them as a Class, You'll see me buy my first Tamiya kit and enter my first TCS race.

Ive got a Cross hop-up version of a F103 sitting here fror sale. No one wants it. I wonder if this body will fit it without too many modifications. I wish somene knew what chassis it is sitting on.

Crap-I guess I'll keep my Cross car till I see what this is all about.

a buddy of mine has the C11 and let me drive it with a stock motor in it at TamiyaUSA... it was definitely a fun car to drive. it would be VERY COOL to see a heat of 10 cars going around the tamiya track. definitely a class to consider for TCS.

tamiya just needs to re-release the clear bodies so we all dont end up running 10 mazda 787Bs

If it's a rerelease of the original car it's got a tub chassis, T-bar rear suspension.

Yep they are totally original. Except the new ones have prepainted bodies (YES!!!) and i think come with a Teu ESC. Ive seen some pics from the tokyo show, showing the re-releases. Big thank you Tamiya for the re-releases!
