the car is pretty good box stock, just get some good tires and give it a shot.

get a setup station to make sure everything is where it needs to be then go have fun.

Hebert's starting IIC setup on AE's site was good for black carpet especially at 5280, unmentioned was the glued front tires but you're probably already doing that.

The traction at IIC never really came up high enough for any of the AE cars to truly shine, if we ran an extra day or two of practice the mains would have been off the hook I'd imagine.

Randy Caster and I tested a sort of similar setup with 1mm shims under the inner/outer blocks with 0.5mm of antidive more or less, it wasn't the easiest to drive but corner speed was really high.

I am certain this has been discussed already, yet with nearly 85 pages I am having a difficult time finding what I am looking for. -so forgive me for repeating a question that may have already been asked.

I have owned several TeamAssociated kits over the years, have always been impressed. I am looking to get a new TC kit this next season. Here is my question, What is the big difference between the TC7 and TC7.1 kits? Beside the fact that I can pick up a TC7 for like $300 and a TC7.1 is around $450. I see that the shocks have been upgraded / revised. Anything else?? And if budget were an issue which kit would you go for?? I mean I could afford the TC7.1 but not if its not really worth the extra $$. By the way, I've been running the same TC chassis for about 4 seasons now. So I do tend to keep/race the same car for several years. So looking for something I can get lots of mileage out of as well.

Also considering Xray's TC kit, but at $550ish, ...it is a bit much.
thanks

Short shocks, and low profile shock towers and bearing caps to fit the short shocks. The 7.1 also comes with the DCV upgrade. That's pretty much it, although the chassis plate has been tweaked slightly, rolling change, same part number.

Front driveshafts and steel spool cups are important to remember from a kit perspective - as IMHO you'd want both of these anyway if you bought a TC7 kit.

You'll love it. Way more aggression with turn in.

I must be doing something wrong, both my TC7 and TC7.1 turn in great, I really can't tell the difference.

Sorry - I didn't get any reply to my questions some pages earlier (p. 76) so I have to ask again:
I'm still running the TC7 base version and was very happy with the car on asphalt.
As the indoor carpet season is starting, I was wondering which setup to start with (running 17.5T GT with the PF GT body).
I don't have the time to race very often, so I don't want to spend money on an alu chassis and just stick to the box carbon chassis for carpet.
1. Can I refere to the team setups (in which allmost everybody is using alu chassis) also for the carbon chassis or do have to go from a different starting point?
2. which might be the main differences to a carpet setup using carbon instead of alu chassis?
3. will the latest TC7.1 carpet setups be a good hint also for my TC7 or should I better stick to the older TC7 carpet setups (both posted with alu chassis)?

Would be happy about any helping answers!
