I have one at my Hobbytown in Indy that can be purchased. Can be ordered from the HT website. Shipping would be $4.99.

Ur car looked pretty dialed, I'm curious how u will like the alum chassis.
Maybe look at keven heberts (mod) and Eric epps (usgt) setup sheets from MHIC at 5280 . Both ran the 7 with aluminum chassis.

Hey Steve, I used Eric's setup pretty much exactly at Minot for my VTA and USGT cars and was VERY pleased. Minor adjustments from there.

I've literally been using strapping tape from the hardware store and while it works fine, I'd rather deal with velcro.

Matt
Matt it took literally 10 min with a dremel. You disconnect the link from the steering and rock the rack left and right to make sure your knuckles are hitting the stops on both sides. The aluminum L corner that touches the steering post when fully locked just needs to be dremelled until that sides knuckle hits it stop. Besides losing the blue coloring on the L piece you cant even tell you removed any aluminum. You do have to trial and error until its right tho.

Default Spare parts

I'm just getting my feet wet into on-road. I've raced off-road for years. I picked up a TC7.1 and plan on racing TC. What are the most needed spare parts I should have on hand? My local hobby shop does not stock any parts for the TC cars.

It depends on your track and ability obviously but all of the plastics are not very expensive. The arms mostly don't break, if you wanted the #31679 steering blocks, #31678 caster blocks and #31681 rear hubs, you're probably fine. for less than $20.

#31677 hinge pins are needed by most at some point
#31633 dcv rebuild kit is nice for the pins and rings since they're somewhat unique

With zero local support, if you want to be sure you can stay at the track.. You probably want a second car with you. I typically race two and have 1-3 sets of spares. If you're ok going home early, the parts are in stock at many online retailers so you'll be good by the next weekend and your local shop is near guaranteed to have an account to order AE parts for you fast.

The tc7.1 shocks were excellent in my tc4, and I never traction rolled for the first time ever... The lowered CG helped alot with the 60g blitz body... All I need to do now is practice more, and get my motor game up....

Default 64 pitch spurs that fit

Whats up all!!!
So I've read the first 40 pages of the thread and I've exercised the search function so now I will ask the experts. Picked up a car recently and was wanting to use my 64 pitch spurs from my other car. Seems my spurs are a bit thin and cause the hardware to push through the spur hub clamp assy. So, try shorter screws, well then the teeth on the clamp that engages the spur pulley are too log leaving a gap on one side to the pulley. Thought about shims or washers on each side of the pulley but then you have all that weight spinning around on your pulley. What light weight 64 pitch pulleys are you guys having luck with?
Any input is appreciated!!

Kevin

I've got a Xray spur gear in mine. I just used shims the get all the spacing right. Your not really adding weight if your running a narrower spur gear with small shims rather then a thicker gear that doesn't require shims.

Rob,
Thanks for getting back to me, that Xray spur, that's the offset one correct?

Thanks Rob, you are talking about the offset spurs correct?
Sorry about the double post the first attempt, I thought, didn't go through

ARC spurs fit well too. Same hub thickness as Xray.
