We had a great week at the 2018 Snowbirds with the Destiny 1/12, with both myself and Yugo finishing in the A main of Modified 1/12. Yugo finished 5th while I finished 9th. We also had many other drivers in the 17.5 and 13.5 classes (Scott Jakes and Johnny Carey to name just two of them) whose cars looked really good! Hopefully some of those other folks will post with setup sheets and further details about their cars.

My car was a continuation of the setup I used at MHIC last year, just with some minor changes. The car was really good, although with a little too much understeer later in the run and a tendency to square up the finish of the corner. I will work to try and rectify both of those items so I am better prepared for ROAR nats next month!

Attached is my setup sheet from Snowbirds - let me know if there are any issues with viewing it and let me know if you have any questions!

Not all pdf viewers will properly display an edited setup sheet - what are you using to view it with? I believe it needs to be something that will display editable fields in a pdf.

What's an AE olive? Don't have that on my list.

Those kind people at CML distribution gave me the answer. Old green.

Yes, it is an older spring colour. One step stiffer than an AE black. I honestly wanted to try using AE black, but I couldn't figure out which of my side springs were AE black and which ones were the softer Yokomo ones (also black.) So I ran olive instead. I honestly think a stiffer side spring would be faster, similar to what I ran at MHIC last year, but would also be harder to drive - especially with tire wear in mod.

I believe Yugo used SpeedMerchant linear .022 side springs with AE .018 front springs. Earlier in the week he was using .018 sides, but I believe he went stiffer for the last qual and main.

Thanks Chris. I'm going to play with side springs when we go testing in high grip. I pretty much have used nothing but black and my car is very very easy to drive.

Yugo and I didn't use the short dampers on either the front end or the back of the car. We both used the long tubes in the back with lube on the kingpins in the front.

I believe others in stock and 13.5 did use the dampers in the front, though. And Scott used the rear dampers on his 17.5 car.

Its all preference, track was super smooth and very high traction. The shorter side tubes need to be rebuilt more often. I started the week running the shorter tubes, then switched back to the longer side tubes.

Here is my setup sheet from ROAR Nats this past weekend at APEX. Some changes with this setup, as I was using a locked diff for the first time and also have been working on trying to fix the trait where my car has a bit of a pause between mid and exit corner.

I ended up qualifying and finishing 7th overall in mod 1/12. Had hoped for a slightly higher finish, but traffic and other incidents didn't go my way in the 2nd and 3rd mains.

Let me know if you have any questions!
