Default the new CRC carpet opinions

We are looking to get some on our track .
But thunder has snowbirds level traction for club racing with only 10 people running ,without spraying the track

We just put the new stuff down a couple weeks ago. (Summit RC in Fort Wayne, IN) The new stuff is everything Frank says it is. We are very pleased with it. Amazing traction and virtually zero fuzz.

I assume this means that CRC has changed their carpet or is offering two versions now?

Is this the same or similar to the ETS carpet?

Amazing compared to what (normal/birds/iic/club race?)
If their was 400 cars running 1k laps each with traction continue to build

Austintown Hobby Raceway just put in the Fastrack II carpet and we've been running practice for two weekends now. In 17.5 1/12th, we've been using mostly CRC/BSR blue front and rear. Double blue fronts work as well, but maybe not quite as fast. Team purple/spec lilac fronts work as well.

What I have heard is that the same tires work on it BUT the prep/sauce is minimal to completely not needed.

I of course have zero experience with it - this is just what I have been told.

I was only saucing maybe a 1/4 or less of the front blue tires, and the steering was pretty aggressive on the first couple of laps. Once the tires set in, I could still lift or flip the car if I drove really hard into a turn on too tight of a line and cranked the wheel. I kept taking caster out of the car all day and ended up at min caster on the front of my S120LTR. Next I want to try different upper arm mounts with less degrees of active caster. 0 active caster blocks may end up being my favorite, then I can dope more of the front tires and not have to worry about lifting.

"snowbirds level traction" - I think that will be redefined this year with FT2.

On that subject, while Snowbirds great car count always builds excellent traction, I wouldn't label Snowbirds as the pinnacle of high grip. The track changes between oval and road "disturbs" the carpet fibers reducing the traction potential. This is a non-issue as the grip is always great at the Birds, however other large events can see even higher levels of traction.

Aggressive TC setups were violently traction rolling the first night of club racing. It also felt really consistent throughout the evening.

This carpet could spawn a new line of harder spec tires.

Like, say, USGT tires for all tc classes? But with real inserts.

Coming soon...crc tires that work on their new carpet.

I never understood people wanting such high bite carpet.

Not sure if higher grip was an intended outcome, or if they were just aiming for longer wear, more consistent traction, and even less fuzz. I do know that, if dark blue and black are a big part of your paint scheme, you're gonna have to change it!
