Default DX3 DSM vs. Airtronics M8 or M11

I don't know much about the new DX3 DSM Spread Spektrum Radio System ... so how does it compare with the M8 or M11?

It looks, to me, that it's a very basic radio with not much programming capabilities. Would it be better to go with the M8/M11 and buy the Spektrum Module seperate (roughly $380 purchase) or the DX3 DSM all in ($259)?

What's the difference? What functionalities do you lose?

Thx

the m8 is a very basic radio, compared to the helios or the m11.

i use m8 and it has all the features i need though.

the dx3 prob has more functions. but it really feels shit in the hand.

If you can afford it get the M11 with DSM, I love mine.

At least with the DX3 you don't have to mess with crystals anymore

hey here my two cents worth. A fellow racer at my track has a dx3. I ask if I could see it. It felt fake(meaning for me it doesn't feel right.) it feels like a there should be more to it. not comfy. I know tons of guys that love there m8. I'm saving up for a m11 presently using a mx-3. What I hear the new m11 is the freaking bomb.

my advise would be to go to you LHS and hold each with batteries in it(if they can, mine will) and see which feels beter.

The DX3 is just a repainted JR XR2. Not alot of adjustability. With alot of M8 owners moving up to M11, you could probably buy a used M8 for $100-$150 and put the spektrum in it. Much better radio system.
