Always try to support your local hobby shop.

Hey Nut, you've got a HobbyTown on the south side of AA, a Rider's in Livonia and Madison Heights, RCScrewz in Livonia, Dirtburner's in Commerce Township, Joe's Hobby in Farmington, Larry's (the BEST!) up in Sterling Heights, and a scattering of smaller shops. If you want to head up 23 to Flint, you've got a Rider's on the west side and a Hobbytown down in Grand Blanc (believe it or not, both shops in Flint are pretty good). Just hop in the car and shoot on down the road!

Maybe I shouldn't say "shoot" when referring to travel in and around the Detroit metro area!

even worse when talking about Flint. take it from someone that lived in Bay City.

WS,

RCScrewz in Livonia would be much closer, but I'm not sure how much they've grown their hobby shop since I was last there. They do have a great track, though. Larry's Performance R/Cs is about 45 min north of Southgate up in Sterling Heights. It has a track also and one of the best shops in the country.
