Where can I find Mini-Z's? Compared to X-Mods?
Want something to play with in the house, where can I find Mini-Zs also how do they compare to X-Mods which can be found at my local Radio Shack?

Only thing I can offer about the X-mods for running in your basement is they have a very large turning circle. So forget about designing anything other than an oval around the Little People Town square and the Dora fold out couch!! OH-or is that just my basement?? DOH!

Actually, there's a "tight turn mod" available from AtomicMods.com, as well as a two-cell Lithium-Ion pacakge, hop-up motors, speedo upgrades, carbon driveshafts and a whole bunch of other stuff. With bearings, the tight turn mod, and a two-cell lithium upgrade an X-Mod, will DECIMATE most Mini-Z's, and at that point you're right about the same price point as a Mini-Z with an X-speed motor. |
Ian-thats not the mod that requires unsoldering a chip form the circuit board and replacing it with another one that allows the servo to have a larger swing?

Do yourself a favor and check out www.mini-zracer.com. Much greater info available there. Personally, There's an old addage that say's "you get what you pay for".......xmods are inexpensive for a reason. Go with the Mini Z and if you want the 1/10 touring car feel....buy the new AWD car that's just coming out.

So where might one buy a mini-z online? Any toy stores carry them? The lhs doesnt.

Do the kits like this http://mini-zracer.com/shop/product.php?pid=693 come with a radio and other electronics?
|
A "readyset" is a ready to run vehicle. Simply install AAA batteries in the car and AA batteries in the radio and off you go. If you're interested, I have a bunch of Mini Z stuff up for sale. Lots of cars, 2 monster trucks and a few bodies. Look on Mini-Zracer.com for my username "Zrc"

yeah go for the kyosho mr02 (or the iwaver 02, kyosho copy) and if you want some better handling buy a ball diff, ball bearings, cf h-bars, some front springs and some soft rubber tyres (10 degree in the back and 15 in front is good if youre racing on a wood floor or in the basement) when it comes to options i like 3 racing, works fine and are alot cheaper than the kyosho parts. in tyres i like the GPM ones in rubber, and GRP gandini in foam.
if youre racing on i high traction surface go for foam tyres and a rear disc damper. when it comes to batteries the GP AAA works quite good in a mini-z. the nice thing about mini.z is the size, fun, and even if you buy all the options that i mentioned above, you wont even come close to what a rolling 1 10 touring chassi costs  :p :sneaky: oh yeah, if you want more speed and dont want to burn or change the fets in the speedo, the atomic ar30 is a really good motor. |
And if you want to see some of the best tracks in the world....Go to Sweden !! Wow, now those are some serious Mini Z racers. :D
