Team Durango DETC410v2

Team Durango has released the DETC410v2. From what I read, the v2 has subtle revisions of the v1 which will make the chassis perform better. Seems to be a promising touring car sedan.

Apparently the car is now designed by a Japanese design team.

Although it's subtle, I see significant improvements on the V2.

The Japanese participating in the design of the V2 is also a big plus. This is a chassis I would buy.

They put into their materials temperature stability which is another plus.

Clearly they did R&D on this chassis.

To me, it's build and play.

Nice

A very attractive kit.

Just ordered mine from Tower. Got $60 off with their current seasonal promotion!
$340 shipped is a great deal for this car kit. I will be converting from many years running Associated and I hope this kit proves to be a big improvement. From what I have seen so far, the quality is definitely a step up. I hope the performance is as well. :D

I think you will like it. I sold my TC6.2 immediately after getting the V1 Durango.

It seems that the composite parts have been revised, but why not include all the new aluminum parts directly in the kit?

bertrandsv87 11-21-2015 10:31 PM

Aluminum is heavier than composite... Not all aluminum is an upgrade....

B.C.Ninja 11-21-2015 11:51 PM

I think he is meaning the lightened aluminium bulkheads etc.

Yup...

TD just jammed all the new parts into the V1 boxes which now include both V1 and V2 parts! I just wish they had included the aluminum servo mount as the plastic one is way to flimsy. I didn't realize how expensive the parts for this car were before pulling the trigger. Compared to the kit cost, the parts are really quite high. I guess that's the only way they can recoup the loss of keeping the kit price under $400.00

I found that the parts are cheaper than most other popular cars, except for the aluminum. It seems to be about the same. I agree they definitely should have included the aluminum servo mounts, I stripped mine pretty easily.

Just ordered this kit from my lhs. Super excited to get it and jump right into the build. Hoping the plastics are better on the v2 compared to the v1.
