ST17/P20 are more of a pain to assemble, but are bulletproof and essentially build it and forget items. This is what we prefer in the US since most tracks here have boards.
going with the st17/p20 then. thanks a lot Mike.

Channel lock style pliers are great to finish driving the st16 home into the st17. This is a Mike Gee trick..

Hi everyone,

Here is my setup from the third round of the Dutch Nationals which was held last weekend.
It made for a very easy to drive car and it coped quite well with the high track temperatures.
Feel free to ask if you have any question regarding the setup.

Mitch, your setup looks very well balanced according to my criterias (that I have found at investigation of others current top brands/top drivers cars and asphalt setups).
The relation between the front and rear suspension stiffness (F75%/R100%), damping (3mm difference), roll centers ( 0,5mm difference in the lower AT21 balls), stabilizers (softest available right combination) - all this is in the my "sweet spot".

Did you tried 1 deg front toe out this time?
What about the sliding mode of ST55 vs the fixed mode?

Did you tried C04M1+1,5 arms and DL set already? Your opinion will be very interesting.

Default set up

hello

i set up my 800xa as in the video of ryan maker tweak guide.. i have always used tweak station..

when i set up and lift the front/rear and adjust preload to get the wheels to hit the setup board at the same time(ryan maker method) the tweak station is slightly off...(the air bubble is within the lines, but closer to one side)

when i set up with the tweak station the right and left front/rear is slightly off when lifting front/rear) (approx 0.3mm)

for now i decided to go with the tweak station, but what can i do to get both tweak station and (Ryan maker) tweak method method perfect?

i have made the chassi as flat as i can ...(no wiggle when i push down on sides of bulkheads) i put the droop blocks under the chassi plate under the swaybar holders..the chassi is dead flat on setup board but on some parts of the chassi there is a small wiggle when on droop blocks..(that is why i put it under swaybarholders)

i set the downstop and checked several times

i have loosened screws on top deck and under chassi many times,i always push down on bulkheads when tightening top deck.

it seems as if something is a little off..i can't wrap my head around why one method is perfect then the other method is slightly off..

if someone has any ideas that i can try that would be great..?

Sorry this is maybe a stupid question, is the car while you make the set-up fully operational weight, battery on board and so on, or load some pictures this tells in some cases more than words can do.
Hope we can solve it then, normally this car gives the least of balance problems.

That should be close enough. I would double check all your suspension gaps are the same, and also double check the shocks are fine, especially if you did not replace the oil that came with them in the kiit

Easiest way to find them is to search for Ignition Pliers.

A 10mm socket from any socket wrench set, super easy.

Loving the VTD along with the LS2 combo with the 2.25 chassis on my reg 800's. Great traction and flexibility.
