Running on a small technical medium grip Grey CRC track with Sorex 32s or 28s should I start with the stock setup or find something on PetitRC?

Hi everyone,

Here is my setup from the Tonisport Onroad Masters held at the Arena33.
I didn’t have an aluminium chassis, therefore, the car was initially way too aggressive and hard to drive.
To combat the excess grip and rotation I ran the car with anti-dive in the front and a thicker front swaybar.
This made the balance of the car much better and thus made the car easier to drive while still rotating pretty good.

I would recommend trying the anti-dive and a 1.2 swaybar to anyone who is planning on running the carbon chassis on high grip carpet.

Feel free to ask if you have any questions.

Kind Regards,
Mitchell

correct... not sold at Awesomatix USA

Awesomatix USA MAKES the Caster Doodle. This is our 4 year old product first debuted at the 2013 Vegas/IIC Race. It has a ton of IIC, ROAR Nationals and other wins behind it. Its probably good enough...
Caster Doodle

there is also the Radtec Caster Doodle

My XA will be here today. Read all the guides and watched all of the RC Maker videos so hopefully it goes smoothly.

Going to start with the stock setup. Though should I go ahead and install the soft springs for medium grip Grey carpet is try the hard first?

The hard spring will make more traction. We have used it successful on grey carpet in the rear of our a700 Evo 2 chassis .... 2015 roar carpet nats setup feature

I'll start with the S springs then.

Traction has been on the higher side lately even some traction rolling on Jaco Blues.

Do I set the damper gaps the same with the S spring?

Interesting as I have found switching to the kit spring very useful in settling the car down in Modified TC racing on the Fastrak 2 (Black Ozite). Made the switch - with the same shock settings netted a 2/10th lap improvement on average and a car that is very easy to drive - not edgy and I can push the car pretty hard with confidence. I have also had to glue my sideways much lower with the kit spring which I can attribute to some of the improvement in lap time as the car has more steering but is much more balanced.

Results with the A800 has been exceptional for me this year - such that a few fellow racers have now moved towards investing into this kit once they drove mine.

In mod tc... We've found increasing rear dampening to help a ton... And this also translated to stock tc.

I'm not sure anyone has tried hard springs on the new black rug (the non ozite type)

Refer to the spring chart here: Awesomatix A700 Series - Spring Chart

Most run the SRS 1 arrangement where the ride height screw is closest to the damper. A decent ballpark spot to start for the soft springs is around 75 gF/mm front, and 85 gF/mm rear. Front and rear damper gap ballpark around 2.6 - 3.0 mm. This should be decent at Bush River.
