Mid December is still the plan but that can always change due to circumstances beyond our control. Everyone is going as scheduled so it all looks OK for now.

There is no special combo planned at this time.

Actualy, these cells were still made to only run for your typical 5 minute main. It is best to keep these cells above 6.8 volts or so. This means you can run your 5 minute heat and charge up that fraction of your pack you just used. Do you honestly plan on using 4800 mah in one 5 minute heat? With the newer technology going into motors now it will make it possible to run that 6 turn mod and keep your pack in the zone because the brushes and comms will actualy survive and full race and won't go flat before the end, thus much more effecient 3 minutes into the race. Many of the new bl systems for 1/18th scale cars can actualy be programmed to shut down as soon as the pack hits x.x volts and thus help your lipos to last longer and pump out great performance.

For those of you who think that all Lipos are equal your wrong. As more companies get involved in this new technology there will be improvements made just like nicads and Nimh improved over time. I have never tested Lipos buut I find it hard to believe that all packs perform the same.
Don't worry, If SMC makes lipo batts I'll buy it !!

I don't have problem for having 7.4V

Anyone up for half hour 19T enduro races?

Here are Adrian's predictions:

1. In 6 month every major battery company will have LiPo's. Some will be good and some will be crappy.

2. Just like the switch from NiCd to NiMh in 1999-2000 by the end of 2006 we will all be racing LiPos.

3. Motors will HAVE to change. By late 2006 most of us will be running BL motors.

4. Within 2 years an electric sedan will be able to run a 45 min main non stop while going faster than a 1/8th scale nitro on road car.

Sounds good to me. One thing left is the longer lasting rubber/foam tire compounds.

Default Yea...and cars that can withstand higher impact speeds.

It will be like driving an egg shell around the track with the power and longer run times. Sorry.... but being everyone that starts this hobby hit stuff alot, we can't make it through a heat. Bring back the HPI Pro 2 with todays standard belt design and a better bumper. I speak for all the new people in this hobby...it sucks! Just thinking there needs to be a car out there geared for the new person. Sorry to get off topic.

You have to REALLY wack something to break an Xray or a Schumacher. Look into and FK06 or the new Mi2EC.

1. I hope you are right about this one. Maybe the cost will be down because of competition.
2. If we are all running lipo's, will we all be running losi's? That is the only car that seems usable with the super lightweight batts.
3. Same thing as #2. Brushless speed controls aren't exactly light.
4. cool

For now we will have to add weight to the battery side to make the car legal. By the time the rules catch up to the technology (lower min weight) in a year or so the next generation of cars will have come out with adjusted plan forms to redistribute the weight.

I wonder what the new chassis designs will look like. I think that there will be a problem designing the car because the battery is still so light but still the same size(that might not be true). Maybe we can get a lipo saddle pack.....and small lightweight speed controllers.

How come its a problem to add a little lead for weight ?

And ...
No body has a problem or a complaint with those 3800`s being even heavier than ever...

After all taking weight off a car is very expensive & difficult to say the least !

If you already have to add 30-40 grams to be up to weight with certain cars, you will have to add another * grams because the battery just became so light. The new batteries are great. We dont have to add so much weight to the batt side now.
