What rubber tires are working good on carpet
Our local track has some new CRC carpet, and a group of stock racers are wanting to stop using foams and start running rubber. Can you give us some advice on what tires and inserts are working.

CS27's work well on carpet, they were the control tire in LV at IIC. Just get premounts no need to worry about inserts that way.

Cs-27's give you the best bang for your buck. Economical and easy. strap em' on and go! That is all we use at Trackside Hobbies in Milwaukee (Scotty's place/IIC)

My favourite rubber tires for carpet at the moment are cs22s, they grip very well with some addative.

In LV I took a sanding drum to them with my dremel and scuffed the center to get rid of the mold seam. They worked fine this way. Only other way I would have done it is mount them then take them outside and scrub them on the sidwalk. That was not an option in LV.

NO Don't do that!!!! The life of CS-27 tires is really to short to do that. I start by wiping the mold release off with isopropyl alcohol. Then apply tire traction go to the track for one battery of practice. This will scrub the tires in just fine!

In Sweden, we use Sorex 28 for all indoor races. Have done it for some years, and everybody is happy. Works just great. Last quite long as well. CS seems to be good but quite uneven in quality/performance. Inserts are free, but all use JB thin blue inlays. Itīs just a very good combo. We only allow odorless additive and most use LRP.
