I don't know what are your feelings about the race, but I'm very disappointed with how information about the race was /is distributed on the web.
It took me really quite some time to find results from the race. no pictures from the race ( at least i couldn't find any).
In my opinion such big race like Reedy race of champions should have much better organized and updated website. Im rather surprised that comparing to coverage from offroad and touring Reedy race this was almost a secret.
I didnt know which group was on the track at the moment ( i only managed to distinguish invitational class) Oficial website - rubbish no information, no promised updates. etc
Also this race was very much oriented for UK drivers. Its true that they are biggest European 12scale community, but fact that they limited motors and batteries only to BRCA legal must have also been one of the reason why visitors from other countries were of-put.
Other problematic matter was that open class was 10.5t stock. For example in Poland we dont race 10.5 stock, only modified. In other countries also top racers drive modified.
And this was rather not up to the spirit ( idea) of the reedy race. I always considered the open class a opportunity for new/not yet successful driver a chance so show that they are also able to race with best. Racing 10.5 in open class was in my opinion form the beggining like suggesting that they are racing worse class. also there is no comparison in scores - quite hard to tell if the winner of open class would be up to pace with invitational if he had modified motor.
Any how ( my complains about the rules - maybe just my point of view)
but coverage- IT just must improve. I sugest to learn form coverages from REDRC and LIVERC . I would be happy to see podium finishers, to read something about cars used , setups, tires , tractions issues. etc
Here i have impression: " markus won, thats all - get lost"
If they dont change quality of coverage in media this race wont be successful as other reedy races.

I'm going to defend the race a little if you don't mind! I was there running in invite.
There was live free video coverage by the guys at RCracing TV - streamed on their website / youtube. I'm not sure this is the case for all major races??
Photos, yeah maybe this was a gap, I don't know. I didn't go looking for any if I'm honest. I don't believe there was anyone doing "Red RC style" text / picture coverage.
If there is going to be any debate about the rules, then it's surely going to have to follow what is popular in the host country? I get your point about racers in your country racing modified - however, in the UK, modified is pretty small compared to the stock classes. I think I'm correct in saying that the majority of the UK regular modified racers were in the invite class. With that in mind, running the open class for modified would have been a pretty bad idea in my view. I think I'm correct in saying that 10.5 is the EFRA stock class?? This makes perfect sense as the open class in my view.

Poor quality coverage? There was an excellent video feed in HD with live commentary throughout the weekend. I'm sure there will be numerous write ups in the days to follow.
RedRC do an excellent job of covering the events they're associated with (ETS etc...) but that's a pretty high bar that has been set. This is a relatively small hobby, to expect more than what was on offer at the weekend isn't realistic. You're talking about people who are giving up their time to sort this stuff out, they're not making much (if any!) money from it.
As regards to the classes: it's impossible to please everyone. They seemed to have most of the bases covered. If they had any more it would make it less competitive so I don't think they did much wrong there.
The amount of peoples time that goes into arranging something like this should never be underestimated. These are people going out of their way and putting in many, many hours for the love of the hobby and they should be applauded. It looks like it was a fantastic event that will only help to further the sport.
Well done BRCA & Reedy.

RedRC does provide good coverage of events, but in my opinion LiveRC are crap. A fixed position 'webcam' etc that's interupted every minute or so for commercials is not good!

RCracing TV did a very good job. I have been watching it from the start almost all the time.
But everyone who was watching it on you tube , could have noticed that many , really many people asked where they can find time schedule, groups etc.
Generally informations about this race was quite hard to find.
Its one day after the race and i havent seen any photos of winers nor their cars. This is something that 12scale fans are looking for.
Fact that there is not that good advertising of 12scale ( good coverage is also advertising) causes that its not the most popular class.
This weekend would be ofraod race of champions- redrc will make coverage, so its not just who they like etc , but a matter of costs.

Fantastic video feed
RCRTV are far away the best at this aspect
What did you all think about 1/12 racing only 6m rather than the norm of 8 ?
Mod 12 in the USA also has quite a small following

Someone always has to complain without knowing any of the back story.
