The new FXM is out...pretty disappointed. They changed the rear pod around but the rest is pretty much the same

Yeah, kind of looks similar to the 12M rear pod, so of course, a new rear wing mount has been added.

Was sorta hoping for an integrated servo saver in the steering bellcrank at the very least. I was really jonesing to get one of these, but will probably hold off for a more significant update, as the FX is a great kit - and now have the aluminum bits coming.

And, in all fairness to VBC, they do list it on their website as "latest evolution of the Lightning FX 1:10 Formula platform."

So, they aren't really marketing it as a "NEW" kit. . . I do like the rear pod though, and much prefer that wing mount versus the cross-brace mount on the FX.

Does xray release a "new" kit every year..
Why revolutionize the fastest f1 kit on the market. I for one am extremely excited for this evolution.
There are lots of little bits that will help make the car go even faster

Hey Alex, did they change anything on the front-end??? Or is it more of the evolution of the rear pod, like the Lightning 12 V2 to the Lightning 12M??

Front end very similar. Updated upper kingpin balls and ball cups. Update steering stops.
Roll dampers are updated to mount in the center. Side springs moved Inwards. Shock has changed to the tbb shock. So no more slip in the front of the damper.
Rear pod will reduce a lot of weight. Add in a carbon axle and th brass front mount and this thing will be lightning fast lol

Oooh, nice. I'm not sure I can afford it now though. Don't hold one for me, I'll jump on GRIPWORKSRC.COM and order when I get the money.

I need a 12 step program, not another F1. . . Nah!

Alex, are you planning on building one of these up - or are you gonna stick with the FX for a while??

Also, can the complete rear pod assembly be added (or even just the parts that changed)??
The more I look at it, the more I'm intrigued.

Thanks!

This is a nice looking improvement.
Really like the idea of the simple rear pod arrangement with the stepless adjustable rear ride height.

The FX is very smooth and fast. The FXM should be even better.

Fair enough. I hope they did fix the massive slop in the front end tho

Also, it would be interesting to see how the rear pod holds up to the rear wing mount. I hope it would be a lot stronger than the swiss cheese of a x-brace wing mount before, but wouldnt be surprised if people starts breaking cracking the CF since all the energy is going through it in a crash.

Well it seems like, to me, they revolutionized something that didnt need revolutionizing and left the flawed parts still...flawed.
