Quick question. Acceptable difference left/right in tire diameter.....

I've just trued my first set of tires ever (1/12th fronts) and I was aiming for 1.75 inch.

I used digital calipers and there is a slight difference between the two of (and I switched to metric for this) 1/10th of a mm.

Is that within an acceptable range?

Thanks in advance.

Mabuchi,

Thats fine, after you have run your first race they will be further apart than that, unless of course your name is odpurple, then that would not be any where near good enough

. Run the slightly larger tire on the "outside".

and I had better luck with the rears. I was aiming for 1.85 but ended up with 1.84 on both with a (converted to metric again) .06mm difference.

I do find though that the center mold sprue/flash is slightly bigger on one tire.

So it's tricky to find a non sprued spot on both sides that line up when I put the tire between the caliper jaws. So I'm guessing this .06 difference is probably because I'm catching part of the flash.

Thanks again.

By the way I think OdPurple want's to have a word with you.
