Default Asphalt setup

Any body have a setup for crc Genx 10 rt for asphalt? My car has on power understeer. I decreased front droop, but that really didn’t solve the problem and the car became too twitchy, so I returned back to 2mm of front droop. I run .45 springs all around, ride height 5mm front and 6mm in rear, 5 camber block, 2 degrees camber, battery transverse, red spring 30cst oil, 5000 oil on side tubes, 2mm for rear droop...width is middle holes, length is long...I’m out of ideas. Thanks

I would try the following.
Narrowing the car (inside holes in front).
The 10 degree reactive caster block. You called this the camber block but it controls the caster reduction on spring compression.
Shorten the wheelbase.
Put .50 mm side springs on the rear only.
Try only one at a time.
I have never run on asphalt but these are general things to increase steering.

Have you considered the transverse battery position? I'm waiting for Spring to test mine on asphalt; but, it worked great on low traction carpet.

Thanks for the information...I’ll try making the changes this weekend...which change would make the biggest difference? Would you recommend a particular body? Thanks

I run the car with a transverse battery, it works very well in my f1...I’m thinking as suggested above(going to try one at a time), reducing the front width would get me on-power steering...that’s where I’m losing time...

The body that I use when needing steering is the Protoform PFM-10 or the McCallister C6 Corvette. If I am going to run narrow the McCallister MX Stang
Stay away from the Protoform Ford GT since it is the lowest in steering.

Narrow front would help. 10 degree blocks for on power, and worth thinking about moving the battery forward to see if that helps.

Of the shells you mentioned the PFM-10 or McAllister Corvette would be my choices for steering outdoors. For a narrow set up the MX-stang with it's skinnier rear wing and front splitter would be a great choice

How much (if any) super glue do you have on the front sidewalls? Worth running just rubber to avoid dulling the steering.

You don't mention additive type or prep. More width and time on the front would help.

Hope that helps...

Thanks for the input. I clean the tires with lighter fluid, then apply mighty gripper blue for traction (sometimes I use paragon fx). I don’t use additional glue on the side walls...I run the car on asphalt. I’ve been using the Porsche gt1 body.

Got my WGTR car setup. It seems a bit slow with 17.5 1s? I didn't remember my WGT cars being this soft? I did take the motor out and it had NO timing--and put 20 degrees in. Hopefully that will pick it up a bit!! The 2s 235 Pro car has plenty of power--but the rubber tired 1s car is soft.

Tim... I remember at TQ we were running 1S/13.5 which is why it seems slow. Crank it to at least 50 degrees and maybe even gear it up a tooth or two! I'll have to order tires for mine so I can play too!

50 degrees?? The motor has a max of 20 on the side of it. I've got some other 17.5's -- this one's an old Murf Dog. I'll have to see what timing I can get in the others.

I found an old Novak 17.5 in my 1/12 scale car and pulled that one to try on Sunday too if I have time.

Is the Colt 911 GT1 body on the approved list? It's not on this one but is listed for USGT

Well we found out the Murff Dog's just TOO old!! Mike gave me a new 17.5 with 45 degrees of timing and that really helped a LOT!! Plus I went to some newer batteries and it finally got competitive! I'm ready for next Saturday's series race!! BTW-- I'm running a McAlister Corvette and it seems to have very good steering!!

Hey Tim- Nice to see a name from the past. Glad you are still racing. It has been soooo long since the early 1/12th days. Thanks for trying our C6 body.... Gary McAllister
