It wouldn't let me copy the link of the track from the 2002 Nats If you click on the link from the 2002 race report, you can see the bigger track. The problem is it doesn't show the pits...LOL

Cool, thanks for the notes on the pit size. Sounds great. Nothing worse than having to pit in 32" of space for 4-5 days. Sounds top notch.

I have been studing the pictures from stockton including the 2002 roar nats.

can anybody tell me why the have all have 12 foot lanes

please tell me that they are going with a tighter layout for the 2006 Roar nats. I mean even with all the crap at the last nats the layout was technical and didn't feature a 25 foot wide sweeper. this is one of the primere races in the nation. please please please tell me it's going to be a tighter layout. the track is an awsome 48'x96' and could have a great layout. come on this isn't snowbirds and the roval but something better then the layout at vegas.

If you want to fix the problem with the Cactus conflict, just make it the next weekend after the current one. Then some of us who have spring break that week can attend, too

You can make a technical track with 12 foot lanes that is a blast to drive and gives everyone more then enough room not to hack each other when passing. It is poosible and it tends to be very fun as the tracks seam to flow alot better.

You also have to remember that different parts of the country race different ways. Some might think we are crazy for racing with 8 ft lanes.

Would you prefer narrow lanes and a straightaway that funnels into a even tighter chicane? *cough* cleveland *cough*

Technical doesn't have to mean super narrow lanes, don't worry too much about the layout, I am confident that it will be top notch and worthy of a National event.

Ruben and thw crew from Stockton R/C raceway are top notch. I try to race there every outher saturday. I was just there this weekend. It's always a cool layout. This weekend it was tight. We only had a straight that was 2/3 the length of the track. There is never any unused or dead space not being used, so lots of tight turns !!!!!

Good luck to everyone comming out to sunny CA for the Nats......

ok any chance of a couple pictures of the new layout. I mean I know of one "A" main driver at the Vegas race that is thinking of not going due to the layouts he has seen on the stockton website and this one from the 2002 roar nats.
or this one of the new carpet. nice 12' wide carpet

I think Ruben and the crew change the layout every week or two. I'am trying to make the Dec. 10th race. If I do make it on the 10th I'll snap some pixs of the track. Another thing to keep in mind is the nats. will be in a much larger building than what we are in now (I think the race is going to be in the big building), and most of the pixs everyone is looking at are old. Check back on the night of the 10th ir the 11th of Dec. thst is. Just as a reminder the track is CRC carpet. This stuff gets more and more and more grip as the day goes on, or at least it did this weekend. If there is anthing I can help with let me know......

Chris.......

ps,
the bottom pix seems to be the newer carpet, but I'am not shure.....

nashracer-
What kind of crusade are you on?
Not going to a National event because the track doesn't meet your dimensional criteria is weak. The layouts at Stockon change regularly; sometimes I like the layout, sometimes not; but it's never kept me from racing.
