but seriously though......if everybody running 1/12th scale (including the pros) was on the very same tire combo......tires that had to be purchased at the event (just like sedans already do)......that could make things in 1/12th scale extra interesting. Heck..... If there is going to be a spec 1/12th scale tire for this event.....why not also limit the number sets that could be used......like maybe 2 sets of tires max per competitor (again...like the sedans already do). With such a spec tire program, tire management then becomes part of the equation and it would pretty much eliminate the practice of cutting one's new tires all the way down to a "one run" size. What better way to level the playing field..... by minimizing the significant advantage that those with full tire sponsorships enjoy? I'd sure be happy to give it a try for this unique Stock Wars event.

and yes.....I agree that any and all negativity is to be directed at Teach.

-1 on 12th spec tire.

12th is not rocket science when it comes to tires these days guys. Pick one front tire that you like; blue, 2xblue, team purple, etc. And pick up some blue and green rears. Then tune the car so it works. Ive yet to have been to a big race since the new foam was released where it wasn't at least as good as the other options.

You don't need one of everything anymore.

We will not be doing a spec 1/12 tire. There are too many factors involved and I don't need drivers skipping the race because they aren't allowed to use the tires that they are familiar with. MRH is a smooth, high bite carpet track similar to Snowbirds, just a little smaller. The current popular tires are popular for a reason, and they work here too. You might even say that those tires are pretty much the spec at this point.

I can't wait. I went to MRH last year for the iic warmup race and had a blast. Track was fun, great staff couldn't ask for more. This should be an awesome race.

I am new to 1/12 pan cars

What are the most popular tires at MRH?

I want to try the plan JamesL_71 uses. Only a few tire choices to reduce the number of things I have to tune on race day.

Hi tekin112000,

Racermac73's list is pretty accurate. I haven't run black/yellow personally for a few years so I'm not sure about those. I know I ran the BSR Team Purple/Blue and Xavier ran the Ulti version of that. I believe Fairtrace also ran the same compound on the BSR wheels. Don't know what Racermac had on his car, but he was fast all day.

I did try green rears a few times. They allowed the car to rotate really well but lacked a little forward bite. For our event this past weekend they weren't really great, but for Stock Wars they might be because traction will be high then. I didn't test any other compound fronts.
