Question...

In the Yok instructions, it says to have the larger opening of the upper arm end(camber turnbuckle) facing up. But L3 instructions ask for the rounded side facing up. Get what I'm saying???

Kewl!!! My Paragon Ti post should be here today. I'm thinking this Friday when I do my first practice runs, either I'll struggle a lot with the new chassis or I'll run fast with it right away. I'm going with your setup but with .075 t-bar and flat front blocks. But Jose and I talked about the way we drive vs. the way you drive, maybe dynamic front end wouldn't work good for us.

I drove my car entirely with the flat blocks last year too. But I didn't want to make drastic changes.....yet. So if something doesn't feel right, I know what it is.

The changes I'm going with compare to last year is .18 instead of .22 springs, and silver shock spring instead of red shock spring. Gonna run the same t-bar, tire size, body, motors from last year.

Just don't fricking pass me on the outside, pass me on the inside, dam it!!!

Litespeed-dom

Where did you find the yok wheels & do you know what compound donuts are in the kit?

Dan-

I had to go thru my contact in Hong Kong to get them. They are available in HK now, they were out of stock for good 10 months. And we have no idea what compound those donuts are that came with the kit. Feels like equivelent to greens all around

litespeed, I noticed in your pic that you have a single wire (red) going to the motor with part of it striped for the battery. From the battery to the motor is kinda short. This can cause tweaking problems. Can you add a small short piece to the speedo to go to the batteries??? That's what I did so it doesn't cause problems. Just a thought...

It does look kinda short but there's plenty to spare from batts to motor. What you see as the end of the wire, there's still a bunch tugged behind the motor. I tugged it back there to have a cleaner pic. But thanks for the advice though!

I see lots of people buying the car .. but what does it have better then say a CRC or Trinity car? I mean at a price of 250+ why not get two of something else? Or use that for extras on another car. I understand it is a worlds edition limited production etc.. but why so much?

Well... for me...

I always liked the Yokomo 1/12th scale but can never get a hold of one. The regular Yokomo L3 was about $200 to start with ordering from Japan or Hong Kong and this car got all the special goodies for about $25 more. An AE L3 is $150 to start with plus then you'll need to get quite a few things to make it light and good, so the price isn't that big of a different. Carpet Knife are ok, a bit on the heavy side. And Switchblade... I wouldn't even want to deal with that front end at all.

The hopups so far in this car is rear pods (even lower than IRS pods) so you can run extremely small tires. It comes with a body already worth $15.... so it's not expensive at all. Ti king pin, hingepin, aluminum pivot balls. And one more thing, those rims are almost impossible to find and they will NEVER crack!

If you buy and L3, add the IRS lower pods, Ti stuff, body, you are pretty much at the same price.

My $.02
