They are coming out the kit car with the SSG chassis soon. You can wait for that instead.

Do you have the entire car kit with SSG in it? THis is because I got Associated 6 cells version and then bought all the Yokomo parts to change that into 4 cells.

I wish I had the money to buy the entire kit. I already have the 12L3 car and the IRS rear motor mounts. I may just get the SSG 4pc chassis kit instead. Did you get your SSG chassis parts from RainbowTen?

No, I bought my parts in Hong Kong. They are expensive.

The original Associated 1/12 HK$850 (cheap)
Yokomo SSG chassis and motor mount HK$1400
Yokomo Front Bumper Brace HK$30
Yokomo Three Shorter Post HK$140
Yokomo 2mm and 3mm offset turnbuckle HK$300

I could not get the MS1 Body.

That's one expensive 12L3 you have...over $348.00usd! the new YOK kit is selling for around $225.00usd. and the Chassis set is about $105usd from Rainbowten. If you're here in the states... the MS1 body is available from Speedtech in CA. see:

Default RC12L3 in Hong kong

TRF414M,

Is HK$850 normal price for RC12L3 in Hong Kong? Could you please recommend me any shop that carry the AE cars. What price I should expect for RC12L3 and FT TC3 in HK$.You can order MS1 body from RainbowTen for about US$10. thanks

rc-zombies,
You got mail. I had order the front brace along with 2 MS1 bodies. I like the look of MS1 body more that my ProtoForm Speed 8. Hopefully that I can feel the different in handling. I just has less than 10 pack in 12th experience .

You can get it pretty much anywhere. I think Control Centre might have it. But you can look for 2nd hand car too. This is because you will replace majority of the part. You will need majority of the parts that I mentioned before. The new motor mount will allow people to use thinner tyres because it is lower than before. Other than that, you need to replace the screws with Gold Associated screws intead of the blue ones.

I know, this is one expensive 1/12 scale. I will try to run it next month.

MS1 has a lot higher rear downforce than Protoform.

Default BUILDING HELP..

OK guys.. this is my very first 1/12th car.. after building it i found the kingpin rubbing the bottom of front wheels, the wheels that come standard with kit.

the diff operation is very poor.very gritty when checking operation.. cleaned the balls before installing, i found although the diff is locked down, you can actually wobble the spur gear. Adjusting the diff is either locked and gritty and/or loose and still gritty. i know about sanding the rings and all, this feels like i ran the car through many packs..the diff is either locked or loose.. the instructions on the diff is pretty straight forward. (i hope)

Is the instruction manual right???

PS i ve built many sedan cars, so i have a lot of experience with building..

So far it is a great car...

thanks for your time, really appreciate it..

TRF414M,

Thank you very much. What about the street price of new original RC12L3 in HK$? I'm not ready for the Yokomo upgrade right now because I want to run it with 6 cells packs.

RCFREAK.

I'm new to 12th too but I hope that my answer should give you some ideas.

1. Kingpin rubbing. My RC12L3 manual instruct me to put 3 kingpin shims on top of the upper suspension arm pivot ball. These shims will raise the kingpin about 1 mm. If you already install the shims you might add more to raise the king ping a little more. I'm not sure if it will affect roll center, spring preload or it will bind at the top instead.

2. How did your diff gear wobble? If it wobble along the axle axis then this is normal because the ball is bigger than the diff thickness otherwise the diff ring will bind with the diff ring when you tighten it down. BTW I remember that my Yokomo MR4TC has a diff ring that smooth only on one side. I think that the stealth diff for 12th scale should come with 2 smooth sides but it's worth to check anyway.

Hi all,

This is my first post.

I just picked up the new car on ebay for $250 shipped.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=1782622469

I normally run an L3, but I figure only 100 in U.S., right? And I'm a huge fan of Masami since his Schumacher days.

I have contact in Hong Kong as well, I've been trying to acquire this car, but used (unbuilt) were going for $200, and new one was about $220 and it doesn't come with the SSG chassis.

My concern is now, Yokomo distributor in Hong Kong canno get anymore of the beefy white Yok rims, where can I find them besides going thru Japan? Anyone in Canada? Meanwhile I have these HPI rims, look just as stout as the Yok rims, but I have yet to try it.

Dom
