Default too much grip...

matt did you try going to a smaller tire size to compensate for too much grip? i remember chester (with his crc car) would run his tires so small at cleveland that it looked like he was running on just the rims.

also, too much grip can be caused by leaving tire compound on way too long. at cleveland, right before my run, i used to wipe it off right after i put it on...

Default APEX!!

RAN ON THE NEW TRACK TODAY.. SEDAN DEFINATELY NEEDED A SETUP CHANGE..CAR WAS TOO TIGHT , DIDNT FLOW AS USED TO..

AFTER THAT, I RAN THE yok.. RAN 3/4 TRACTION IN REAR AND 1/4 INCH IN THE FRONT.. CAR STILL PUSHED.. IT DEFINATLY WOULD HAVE BENIFITTED WITH MORE SAUCE IN THE FRONT.

FREAK

Default ssg chassis set

the chassis set is the same one that comes in the worlds kit. i emailed yokomo and they said they are currently testing thicker chassis' for carpet racing. said they should have a thicker SSG chassis out next month. i don't know why they are testing. all other manufacturers already have a thick chassis for carpet. the trinity car is 2.7mm thick and the new Irrgang chassis is 2.5mm thick. i don't know if associated had a thick chassis though.

i do know the thin ssg chassis will be the bomb for asphalt racing!!

Default APEX..

i just got back from Snowbirds.. did what you recommended.. even swapped out the front axles so i can run jaco wheels.

1st qulalifier.. wasnt ready didnt have battery ready.. too busy with sedan.

2nd qualifier.. glitched and forgot other set of crystals on pit table.

3rd.. tapped a wall and knocked off the negative terminal on battery.

so i ended up "sandbagging" in the last main!!!!!! finished second.. taking home a plaque !!!also pulled car off for 2 laps because lap traffic popped off 2 body clips. luckily 2 was available.. finished on same lap as leader!!! coulda , shoulda, woulda!!!!

that was actually my best lap run all week!!! checked lap times and i probably would have been in the b-c main!!!!

Next year!!

thanks for you help!!!

gosh, you couldn't get a clean run in...that sucks, but there's always next year. running two classes gets hectic especially when traction goes up and your trying to dial both cars in. all of you guys did well there.

so what setup did you end up with?

Default apex..

basically did what you said.. less the red stuff on kingpins

ohh.. i did convert the front end, switched the front axles to associated style.. and now car accepts jaco wheels. i did notice jaco were slightly harder.. in general to the TRCs.

i didnt need anymore traction.

also removed the center screw on rear of T-bar. changed the reactive caster to the normal one.

The YRX12we already have the 12L3 front end...to fit the Jaco..just buy the steering knuckle, axle, and bearings. the Kingpin should fit without any mods.

you'll need (4) 1/8 x 5/16 unflanged bearings
(2) 8421 steering knuckles
(2) 1599 axles...

You can replace the axles with Lunsford Ti..which are stronger and lighter..works better than AE. don't have the stock no..but Tower should have them...

More than 100 kits were shipped to the US...Yokomo did not anticipate the demand for the car would be high.
and looking forward to Yokomo's new MRTC-SD1 shaft driven and with SSG chassis.

I bought a Yokomo conversion kit and an Asso RC12.
The problem I have is that the countersunk screws from the Asso kit don't fit in the yokomo chassis. Anyone has the same problem?
