Default Collectible On-Road Chassis

Happy Monday to all.

Are you a Racer? A collector? Or Both?

I just am curious to know which On-Road Chassis are considered collectibles.

I know for sure that the 30th Anniversary Tamiya Porsche Turbo RSR TA05 is one of them.

Are there any more On-Road chassis which are considered collector's items. They could be latest models right now which in time will be collector's items.

Regards!

I collect the TRF Series of cars. I have one of every model starting with TA03R TRF up to the TRF 418. I also have a bunch of old Delta Spyder 1/12th scale cars.

I don't know how collectible they are, but I've always wanted to own a SMP Slide.

That's one big collection.

It seems to me that Tamiya cars are collectibles.

It also seems to me that the carbon fiber chassis (TRF) are more collectible than the tub chassis.

I'm trying to gather as many m-chassis (FWD and 4WD) that I can. I don't baby them, not shelf queens, but I like to have all the different flavors for my bashing.

I am still missing a M01...

They are later on, funny thing is right when the new model comes out you can get the last years model, (some even NIB) for cheap. I have never paid more then $150 for one of my TRF cars. I have 2 ta03r trfs, One is NIB I paid $125. When the Trf 415 came out. the 414x, 414 and 414m were being sold off dirt cheap. Same as the 415 and it's many variants, when the 416 came out you could get used 415s in great shape for next to nothing.

Nice thing about race cars (scale or full size), they immediately plunge in value when the newer better car comes out. Then in a few years they are again worth something.

Now some cars go against this, the damn TB Evo V MS come to mind. the car was so good it never really got to the point of being cheap.

Yes the famous TB Evo 5 MS. What would rank second to this chassis?

I'm looking for a T1fk 04. It was my first serious race car. Anything similar would be alright.

Old delta cars are probably the most desirable.

Is there a Tamiya Tub chassis which can be considered a collectible?

TA01, with skyline body.

Also the TA02SW, which was specifically made for the Porsche body.
