Default Roche Rapide P10 1/10 200mm World GT Competition Car Kit

Building upon the design of the P12, Roche is nearly ready with their new World GT 200mm P10 Pan Car. The first public pictures of the car revealed a new steering rack design.

More info will be posted here and at http://www.rochercusa.com/p/rapide-p10-world-gt.html

The car is as cool as it looks in pictures. Prototype hitting the track real soon. Be on the look out...

Looks cool but I have a question...if you are going to use a steering rack, why not center the servo in the chassis? Why still have it off-set the same as if you are not using a rack? Other RWD chassis that use a steering rack usually have the servo centered like 2wd buggies and trucks. Balance wise I would think centered would be better.

Don't get me wrong, I love creativity and unique ideas. However, a full-fledged steering rack in a pan car? You're looking at additional weight, multiple points for failure and unwanted slop. And as InspGadgt pointed out the servo is not centered which is rather silly.

Yes, Yokomo has a multiple point steering setup, though clearly not as advanced as Roche steering rack. Though, a cool idea at the time, many people such as myself have done away with the crank system and moved towards the more traditional layout.

But, I might be wrong with the Roche setup.

I just spent 1h on steering geometry/Ackerman. I'm pretty impressed with all of the adjustment. Got something close to what I'm used to. Will start with that in the AM.

Sometime Aug. Excact date tbd.

Did a 8.749 fast lap at RC car world.. And after changing the steering rack settings I got avg laps down from 9.0 to 8.8/8.9. I'm sold on this steering rack concept... Very cool!

I'm liking the idea of the steering rack! I don't think weight is a concern in wgt. My serpent wgt car is a heavier chassis than most, and still needed a lot of ballast even with the regular weight body. The extra 10g that the rack might add shouldn't matter, and the better geometry/less bump steer should help with performance. Great looking car.

Looks interesting. If this class gets regular at Horsham I'd be interested.
