Building upon the design of the P12, Roche is nearly ready with their new World GT 200mm P10 Pan Car. The first public pictures of the car revealed a new steering rack design.

Looks cool but I have a question...if you are going to use a steering rack, why not center the servo in the chassis? Why still have it off-set the same as if you are not using a rack? Other RWD chassis that use a steering rack usually have the servo centered like 2wd buggies and trucks. Balance wise I would think centered would be better.

Yes, Yokomo has a multiple point steering setup, though clearly not as advanced as Roche steering rack. Though, a cool idea at the time, many people such as myself have done away with the crank system and moved towards the more traditional layout.
But, I might be wrong with the Roche setup.

I'm liking the idea of the steering rack! I don't think weight is a concern in wgt. My serpent wgt car is a heavier chassis than most, and still needed a lot of ballast even with the regular weight body. The extra 10g that the rack might add shouldn't matter, and the better geometry/less bump steer should help with performance. Great looking car.
