Default ROAR, your incompetence is showing again...

so its time to vote, people are recieving their rev-ups by mail, but from a member who has rarely gotten a rev-up in the mailbox.... why would a printed version be out sooner than a PDF version on their website...?? someone somewhere has to have the file that they are printing the rev-ups from.... put it on the freeking website for christ sake...

Posting this in the ROAR Elections thread but...

Why not eliminate the approx. $50k annual cost in printing and mailing Rev Up out and instead make it only available via PDF? If voting is of concern then simply send out a vote card once a year that the member fills out and returns. A 1x per year vote card would cost a fraction of the $50k and then the remaining dollars could be used to advertise ROAR or ROAR sanctioned events as well as help incent regional participation.

That would make way too much sense.

I don't know what all the on-road committe has been talking about but with oval they want to add 2 oz. to all the classes across the board to try and slow the cars down. Heck we only use 4-cells.

It copuld be printed along side the membership card on that piece of paper, with 2 spots for voting, one labled
Prez/VP _______________________
Region ___ Director______________

The only thing wrong with this is, not knowing the candidates.

LOL

BECAUSE this one has the ballot in it and we can't accept print off's from the computer as a ballot.... there was thought behind it... strange, you didn't bother to ask before you threw out your negative crap.

Usually, we get you guys pissing and moaning that a month isn't enough time to get your ballot and mail it in.. now you bitch because the .pdf version isn't on there quick enough???

Wow... amazing the time people have to think of things... LOL

Why would it matter if it was a copy seeing you should summit your roar membership # to vote. Then enter it to a data base and if somebody tries to revote you can see by your file they already voted.

Yes, and that's how it will be next election. For this one, we can't allow COPIES of the ballots to be mailed in. This is why the .pdf version isn't available yet.

Next election, voting will be online or print off a copy from online and mail it in. Those who don't want the computer will be able to request a ballot mailed to them but it might take a bit more time.

That came DIRECTLY from the OVAL CLASS committee, BTW. You might want to contact Kenny Bergschultz for further information as to the reasoning to this.

For a real car sacutioning body that I am involved with we feel we need to get as many votes and still keep the ballot secret as if it was open many wouldn't vote.

All Ballots are filed out for who you want to vote for. That is then folded so you can not read, much like what they use for the Emmy's and Grammy's you see on tv. And then it is put in an envolope and mailed out with your membership number in place of your name. You check off the membership number when ti is recieved. The envolope is opend and then thrown out once the ballot is removed and placed in a box to be counted later.

I was explained as it was brought up for oval because they were the first that met and then was going to be across the board.

do you believe this would increase the voting percentage in ROAR if we mailed out a card without your name on it and you mailed it back?

Who voted for what is never kept on record. We only use your name and number to verify that you are a current member. I couldn't ask right now to find out who you voted for the last election. ROAR does not keep those records.

If I am understanding your post correctly??

no idea who told you that.....

I will get a direct explanation from Kenny and let you know. They added 2 ounces to the cars, from my understanding, because the cars already wiegh that anyway. Its an addition to the minimum, not the maximum... how I understood it.

Not sure if a ROAR number matters. At our offroad Region 2 race we had guys out of Region winning (nothing happend other than somehow he is given credit for the win) guys using old numbers so they don't have to pay the ROAR membership, and can't even get a ROAR region 2 director to show for the race. How can we expext the voting to be any better!!!!!

Its assame over the years this has happened.

if only offical "printed-by-ROAR' versions of the ballot will be allowed, then dawn, heres my address, see to it that i recieve one.

Peter Robinson
1107 86th Ave. NE
Everett, WA 98205

when someone or some group of people (like ROAR) says they are going to do something (like put the Rev-Ups online, or mail you Rev-Up as part of your membership) is it to much to ask that they keep their word by doing what they say they are going to do??? i guess it is...

go ROAR! go go go... go ROAR!
