Reflex makes a nice mount that is a little cheaper. I've used this plenty in the past, but have always had to open up the holes a little on the fan for the screw to go through and thread into the mount.

Also, Motiv has a mount that's a few bucks cheaper than the Reflex but I haven't tried this one yet to give any feedback on it.

Regarding the front diff, I haven't run one myself in almost 2 years but last I did was with 2.5 million cSt fluid from Gravity. As I recall, the front diff improved steering on corner entry but on power I felt it gave up a little of the forward drive that the solid front axle provides. Gravity also now has a 20 million cSt "putty" that has just recently become available that I believe EA used at Snowbirds on high bite carpet with pretty great results.
Over the past year or so I've been working towards a more kit-based setup so I've stuck with the spool for all applications.

If you put a little thought into it, fan mounts aren't that hard to make. I've used old servo mounts and top deck standoffs for years, trim to fit your location and your good to go. Why spend money when you have parts lying around?

I would use shoe goo but my windytrumpet doesnt have a large enough flat spot i think.
There is the wtf one but. Id like to stay away from clamping style.
Welp. For a few weeks it will be shoe goo hah. Canada shipping =(

My 2 cents (driving the t4 '15 for more than 11 months now), it all depends on you and how you are really connected and familiar with your car. As I started with my '15 last year, I was using a Futaba 4PK radio and doing fine. When I switched to the M12S, I got faster, more consistent and got more "connected to car" to the point I was confident and daring enough to make set up changes in the kit and test it out and see my performance.
Prior to the end of 2015, I tested the Hagberg set up but retained some set ups that I felt were more suited to my driving. I posted the fastest lap and most number of laps in a 5 min run for 17.5T blinky in our recent club race.
To each his own

Lol, I guess I should start saving for m12s then.
I am currently using m11x, while it is way better than my previous GT3B, but I feel like it is outdated after trying my friend's m12s.
But I will keep driving like this though, I have only had the car for 2 weeks.
Radio is gonna be an upgrade , but it is probably not bottom neck right now.
Could you tell me what you found could have been improved for your driving style? I know it may not work for me, but I would like some inspiration.

Sanwa gives you a smoother feeling in the car, futaba/spektrum etc has a more aggresive feeling. tried a friends xray with his futaba, the car felt broken, very unpredictable, switched to a sanwa radio between the runs, the car was alot better!

Hi, just got back in to rc after 2 years of blank, just got the new t4, and noticed it comes with a spool at the front axle, the track i will be running will be low-med surface, only med-high during race days, so should i get a front diff for practice time or just stick to the stock setup to get some feel first. thx
Downstop (F6/R4 to F5/R4)
Springs (Softer in low med)
Diff oil (less vicosity from 7000 -> 5000 -> 3000)
Ride Heights (Higher in low-med(F4.8/R5.2 to F5.2/R5.6)
IMHO getting a front diff (on asphalt) makes running kind of difficult to drive in my previous days running a TRF419

Anyways, cant wait to try out the new car, and thanks for your input, will probably try your setup as well if the stock setting is not fit. have fun~

built mine box stock and put it down for the first time tonight.. its a little too tail happy for me lol. but i will bring it back into line with how i like it. weight bias seems to be toward the rear. so i might start by pushing the arms back, taking out a bunch of droop.
I put in all the screws as well. atm its a little sensitive in the on/off throttle transistion. but it is smooth.. picks up speed very nicely. very reponsive... I imagine by next saturday ill be killing my R2s laptimes.

Just finished building the T4'16 which is my first Xray since the T3'11. Really nice build, particularly the shocks. Hopefully I'll get to have a shakedown this week
Seriously? M11x is fine. The improvement in going to m12 will be negligible. Save your money and do more practice.

Does anyone experience uneven rear toes?
I found that the difference between my rear toes is like 1 degree , and this is checked on setup station.
I loosed every related screws and retight them, still couldn't get even toes.
My current solution is using different toe inserts on left and right... And it matched perfectly on setup station..
The difference between left inserts and right inserts is right on 1 .
This makes me thing it could be part defect ...
It kind of bothers me.
My friend told me he remembered the older X-ray had the similar issue..
This is my first X-ray, so I am not sure if my problem is normal or not.
Tbh, when the car was freshly built, I noticed this problem already, but I thought it was because i didn't right screws correctly , or chassis was tweaked.
I don't think I bent any pins, but I will check .
