The Reedy Race weekend is done and the focus of RC competition shifts to the upcoming On Road Nationals. HarshGuy, Billy Bowerman and the entire SWR track crew have been working really hard to make sure all the preparations are completed and everything is in place as the nats are only 9 DAYS AWAY

With the difficulties they were having at the Reedy race to provide live scoring, it was very reassuring to see that our club race that weekend had no issues and the audio and video broadcasts were working perfectly. The freshly painted pit benches look really nice and I think everyone will appreciate the new extra shelving that was installed to provide more space.

SWR has always been partial to Sorex 36R's but everyone should know that after a few weeks of testing with the handout tires - the RP36 handout is working awesome! I think a lot has to do w/ the excellent traction sauce being applied on the track, but even with 135 degree track temps the tires didn't really overheat and get slimey.

If anyone is interested in a good starting setup for the Xray T2 (19T/Spool) I posted mine for download here: T2-RobertV-SWR.pdf I know HarshGuy has a decent RDX setup but we might want to wait until after this weeks Corally test day before we ask him to share it.

Nope. Team Yokomo USA is renting the track Tuesday, Team Corally USA is renting it Wednesday & Thursday ...on the Corally thread they had posted that Corally drivers can stop on by for setup help and questions, but the track is rented to them not for general public use during those 3 days; here's the post from the Corally thread:

That seems kinda weird, if racing is friday, saturday, and sunday. Then when are the guys that dont have a corally (yeah I know, like anyone doesn't drive for corally ) or yokomo going to practice? Or is this for this week and next week the track is open? It doesn't matter to me I'm just wondering...

mini - those practice days are for this week, the track is usually closed during the week but it can be rented out. So yokomo has it for tues 5/30, corally has it wed 5/31 and thurs 6/1, friday 6/2 is reg practice, sat 6/3 is racing and sunday 6/4 is teardown for the nats. It will be closed then till wed 6/7 (first day of nats practice). Hope this helps..

Yep like Dal said, the track is actually normally only open for practice every other Friday, racing every other alternating Saturday, because of the nationals we opened for practice every Friday, and every Saturday that there was no racing, and on Sundays for the past 2 months or so. Mon - Thu the track was available for private rentals, something I have been posting about on the threads since we started actively promoting the nationals; I also had the "public" schedule posted since "day 1" that our season started so everyone would be able to schedule any practice time thety woud like.

So this week, Yokomo has the track rented on Tue, Corally on Wed/Thu, then there is "public" practice Friday, race Saturday and the track is shut down Sunday - Tuesday in preperatoin for the Nationals.

Also, we have been preping the track with the same "mixture" that we will be using at the Nationals since "day 1" of our season opener, so although the layout will be different, the traction and how it reacts throughout the temperature change during the day has not ...so all that to say that "the guys that dont have a corally (yeah I know, like anyone doesn't drive for corally ) or yokomo" have had PLENTY of time to practice prior to this week, and still have one more day (Friday) to practice this week. Additionally, I don't know that Yokomo drivers can practice today ...as I stated before the track is rented to Yokomo today, corally wed/thu ...it is their decision weather it's just their factory team, drivers of, or the elementary school next door to practice on the track while they are renting it!!

HarshGuy,

Do you know yet if the practice times will be shown over the net when official practice starts. I know you probably will be doing other things at that moment but was wondering if you've heard from the crew yet.
