I too am looking into getting a couple mini'z's. Specifically the new Ford GT2005 and the Ferrari 360 GTC. It was mentioned that I can use my M8, what do I need to do this?

How much does one of these lathes go for?
What aftermarket ESC do you need for Mod mtors?
What mah do AAA's run up to?
Do they offer motors that I wouldnt need any other items(esc upgrade, motor plate etc.) to run and would be faster then the stock ones?
What upgrades for performance are most popular?
Thanks for all the help roger!
Steve
No prob Steve:

1) To tell you the truth Steve, I wouldn't worry about the lathe to much. The lathe that I saw was meant for slot cars. Most racers just use a comm stick or a eraser from what i've seen. As for myself, I just change out the brushes and im all set

2) They do make esc for the mini-z's, but most of them will just burn out from my experience. Esc for mini-z's are called turbo systems. You also have to find a turbo system that is compatable with the particular board for your mini-z ( MR-01, MR-02, and MR-015 ). The absolute BEST way is to get an internal Fet change directly to the board. Its a little more costly and I HIGHLY recommend it. The problem with doing this is that it's not easy. I have a person that does my boards because he has all of the required soldering tools and instruments to accomplish this task.

3) The highest Mah reading that i've seen are 1000mah. You can obtain 750-850mah at radio shack or any other electronic store. The 1000mah batteries can also be purchased on e-bay. These batteries are from overseas and I haven't seen these batteries on U.S. shores yet.

4) Yes, they offer many motors that are compatable with the current stock board. Atomic stock motors are the most popular. Kyosho X-speed motors are popular because most hobbyshops that carry kyosho mini-z wil have these in stock. PN motors are good also. Just make sure that when you buy a PN motor, its compatable for a stock board. PN motors have sooooo many motors that alot of people that are new to mini-z's don't know which motor to use. My best advise is to goto PN's website at: www.pnracing.com.

5) The most popular upgrades are the upgrade I posted eariler on this thread.

Yes, you can use your M8 transmitter, but you'll need to buy a mini-z M8 module made from KO propo. Cost is around $30-50 bucks.

Thumbs up
Get the MR-02 chassis with the following mods:

1) Rear floating disk
2) Lower carbon fiber T-plate
3) Full set of bearings
4) front tuning springs
5) Rear aluminum pod
6) stainless steel front steering shafts
7) Atomic front tires ( compound 20 ) and GPM rears ( compound 8 )
8) Atomic stock or some PN stock motors ( these motors are faster than what you get originally from the kit and they wil not burn up your board within the mini-z. If you wanna use a faster modified motor, internal work on the board is required by changing the stock fets. )

Your car should be in the ball park with some of the fast guys. There isn't that much stuff you need to be at pace with the average club fast guys. I've had afew cars with-in the past years.
cheers i will start looking do you know any good shop`s that have these parts ?? also wee run on carpet will your tyres work on it ??

Carpet ? I'm not too sure if the tires that I mentioned will work. The best thing to do is ask some of the club racers in your area what tires they are using. Goodluck.

McClaren, NSX, Enzo Ferrari, and Ferrari F-50. There are a bunch of new bodies, but I haven't heard of anybody saying anything about handling characteristics.

I can sell you a ton of MINI Z stuff
two complete running cars.
1) MR01
1) MR02

I only have on transmitter because I was using my Helios.
The MR02 has the new AD board and module for the Helios so you will need a Helios to use it but the MR01 still can use the old tranmistter...or any 27AM trans....
It will include so many parts that you can build a whole nother car just out of the spares and hop ups..
There is a spare MR02 board since I upgraded it to the AD board.
Let me know...
I will give you every Mini Z part I have...which is alot...
TIRES GALORE....Diffs and spare bodies.
The MR02 has a Enzo body
the Mr01 has two 360 modena bodies..
$200.00 shipped...
Paypal is [email protected]
I could take some photos...but it will take me a while...there is so much to dig out...LOL
Thanks,
-Shookie <><

Please email me

I have a picture of all the stuff...
Found out there is another board so there is enough to make two MR01's and I think there is also enough to make another Mr02 for a total of four cars.
Trust me when I say enough..

thanks,

I have drove the mini-z overland. Kyosho has many up-grades for the overland kits. Here's a picture of a overland off-road course.
