Default Upgrade T3 or New T4?

Wanted to get some opinions…

I currently have a 2011 Xray T3, that has been a great car (got it used). I have been thinking about finally getting a new kit and am leaning towards a 2015 T4. I am in a place where I can financially afford it and want to get more involved in racing.

My question is, would it be worth it to upgrade my current T3 (new diff, shafts, bearings, etc..) or just spend the extra money for a new T4? Although the cost for various upgrades is less cost overall, buying and building a “new” kit is very intriguing to me as it would be my first.

I appreciate any comments you guys have. Thanks!

My $.02 is get the new kit. Lots of advances in the newer kit, but the biggest reason is to share setups with others, not to mention better parts support.

That's a great point. And given it is a new model (for a few months lol) The support would obviously be around for a while.

Have you considered a used 14. The performance gains of the 15 over the 14 are minimal. I know you won't get to build it from the box but just a thought.

If money is no issue Def get a new 15. You can get burned with used ones and end up spending more than you would have on a brand new one.

I bought a new kit T4'15 for the first time since the T2 ’06. I was always running a used Xray from someone else. I noticed a huge difference running a new kit. The used kit always had something that hindered the car (either worn/damaged or missing parts). Besides, the new kit has major design advantages over the T3 11. You will love the new car.

That was one of my biggest frustrations. When I got the car, it took a while to get up to speed on the setup and figure out what parts (and brands) were upgraded. I thought it was time to start fresh.
