1st race motor was a Reedy 05. The label was half blue and half chrome, was a silver can mabuchi with a translucent white endbell, used it for 1/12 stock circa 1985.

Mabuchi in my Tamiya Frog. Then my LHS sold me my 1st 05 motor called the Trix 05..he boasted 27,000 RPM. This was back in '85. Then in '86 i put a RacePrep 17 turn in my Falcon and that boasted 32,000 RPM from Tower Hobbies. Ahh..the good ol days!!!

Its ever RC motor is a Mabuchi540 in a kyosho FF touring car.Forgot the name already...Think was a mantis or something...

But the very 1st proper RC motor was the Trinity Paradox. Was good for its day.But I wreaked it in a few months time....

The first one that came with my Tamiya Fox was the mubachi, but the first one I bought was the Trinity Gold motor. That thing was fast!

Mine was 540 Mabuchi stock motor back in '85 then upgarded to Kyosho's Le Mans 240 ST, then Le Mans 480 S. Followed by Tamiya Technigold, Tamiya Dyna Tech 19t and I replaced the armature to Tamiya optional 17t.

Ditto, that was my first motor, but my dad bought it for me since I was 10, I think the first motor I saved up for was a Point Blank 15t, anybody remember that offshoot of trinity I believe? I don't think I ever bought a stock motor until I started racing touring cars, being a young kid I usually just showed up without a motor and somebody would tune me one to run for the day.

My favorite motors were always the pink can stockers. 36 degree of timming. Losi had one called the Double Trouble. I ran it in my RC10 worlds car.

Remember B n R? The had a motor called the bullet. It had something like 48 degrees of timing.

I still have a few pink cans. I should pull them out to see how they run in a TC.
