It's insane the speeds that are capable with this chassis. I am really impressed. As a former TC3 racer, these are speeds we didn't even dream about in the late 90s. I believe RC Car Action had an article with one which was in the 90s on 10 cells or so.

Sometimes the rear diff gears last a little while if you are lucky and go easy on the throttle.

Yep i run stock diffs also.. never ran anything but plastic gears. I have the tc4 back and wish i had my 6700 back. I have a much better road now..

Very fast top speed here, but there is a point where you can't even see the car (150+mph) before you lose control.... Good luck guys... I am sticking with 2s to 4s....

Not enough room for a big 6s pack. mid to high kv works best for tc.

A brightly colored body helps immensly with visibility. Just gotta keep your eye one the car. A lot of potential still in 2s thru 4s. (124-163 MPH-World records for 2s and 4s)

I just started my own tc4 too. Is this thread still somewhat active? Last posted a month ago...hmm. I am still pretty new to the whole speedrun thing, but here is my setup.

Castle MM2 w/ rhouse21 cap pack
TP Power 3650
SMC True Spec Extreme 4s 6000mah
BSR Foams 3 toe in rear, 1 toe in front (I think)
Plastic diffs but shimmed properly
Savox servo
Futaba 3pm-x

I haven't really tested it at full power because my steel spur isn't ready yet. It has a ton of power but it seems to veer off to the left when I give it some throttle. It is hard to keep straight as of now, not sure why. Any tips would be appreciated

I am not a huge speed run guy but I fixed some of my issues with the car not going straight with a better wing and overcompensating for what the car wants to do after it gets past a certain speed. Going left? dial some right trim in even if it's crooked while going slow. vice versa.
At some point the cars steering play stiffens up due to speed and that is where it wants to go.

The trim doesn't really help. When the car coasts with no throttle, it goes to the right. Upon power it goes a little to the left. Its very noticeable when driving even at 30mph speeds. Makes me think aerodynamics isn't the issue, at least not yet.

I bet your droop is way off. It's me BAFRC btw.

Yeah I knew. What should the droop be? I'm about to redo my suspension with 70wt oil and red springs. I run 11mm rear and about 9 to 10mm front ride height.
