Thanks PHILDOGGG! I got my droop setup for ride height at about 9mm front and 11mm rear.

The car wasnt going that straight on the 124mph pass so I let off kinda early. I was very surprised that it still went that fast.

I just got my 2 degree rear toe block. I only need the one rear toe block or do I need the middle rear one too?

I'm also waiting on some 6 degree caster blocks.

Hoping to make the car go straighter before more speed runs this weekend.

just the 2 deg. is all. and yes 6 deg caster should help with steering..

Thanks man. Just another few days of fine tuning until this weekend's speed runs since the road I use has a bit too much traffic on weekdays.

Is there any other 36mm motors out there besides the NEU that would be faster than my 7700kv?

Please could you let me know the advantages/disadvantages of belt and shaft driven vehicles for speed runs.

I have had bad experiences with belts because they can snap at anytime. Especially at very high speeds. Little pebbles and debris will also destroy belts. Belt pulleys also wear down very fast.

The only advantage I can think of for belts is that they run quieter and smoother.

I will never run a belt drive car again.

Tc4basher what kind of budget are we talking about? leopard motors are pretty good quality. try a 3660 can. I'll look.

What does lower ratio for higher gearing mean?

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but this is what I understand. Say, I'm using a 35T pinion and 60T spur on both the belt driven and shaft driven car, then the final drive ratio of the shaft driven car will be lower. Is this due to a lower transmission and/or differential ratio in a shaft driven car?

Yeah you got it about rite. I'm not saying speed cars cannot be belt drive but i think most of the time they will need stronger, upgraded belts and pulleys.

I was looking at that leopard motor before and I think I would probably need to run 6s to get it faster than my 7700kv on 4s?

I will probably eventually get the NEU motor but I guess I'm not quite ready to pull the trigger on a motor that cost more than the car haha.

Right now im running 43/52 gearing which puts me at 3.02 FDR. Should I try a 45t pinion (2.88 FDR)?

Any opinions on the Xray T3/T4. It has a 1.9 transmission ratio and would result in a 2.85 FDR with a 40T pinion and 60T spur.

Is the 7700kv motor the castle 1406 series?

If yes, are you having any heat issues since the manufacture says 2S LiPo max.

Yes the motor is a 1406 series which gets hot fast whether its on 2s or 4s. I let the car sit and cool with the fans blowing for at least 3-5 mins between speed runs.

If the motor is really hot or I want it to cool down even faster then I'll rest it on my dashboard of my SUV with the motor directly above a vent with the AC blasting and it cools much faster.
