Tc4 speed run 137mph

The fastest I went is 131 a few months ago. My limitations and the Achilles heel with my TC4 are diff gears stripping or breaking. Its happened more than 10 times in the last year. I know no solution to this so Im just gonna put the car away for now.

I may sound like a broken record in these threads, but I hope everyone who is doing speed runs is performing them on a closed circuit. Public streets really aren't a safe place to be going this fast with an R/C car.
Good luck on your need for speed and please stay safe.

TC4Basher, I assume you have tried the aluminum, and or the steel diff gears?
I was looking at those myself. I will be attempting some speed runs this weekend. Will see how it does, made some more changes, gearing, and body.

Good luck with your runs this weekend and post some videos or pics of your beast!

Well i made some changes to the car, with a 3 cell I got a couple 105mph runs, put in the 4 cell and went 115, backed it up with a 116mph run
. Then stripped the rear diff gear, lost teeth in 3 different spots, like a triangle. I am running a spool front, and rear, think a tight diff in rear would help with gear stripping? I will try to post up some pics, or a video, if it will let me.

My friend just went a personal best of 124 mph with his tc4. Here is the vid from yesterday. Subscribe to his channel to see more.

I have been putting niftech diff grease on the gears.Have two shims on one side, pushing mesh tighter now. I will have to post pics/videos from home later. Your buddies car is flying, would you share his setup? KV, gearing? Thanks

Not sure if he wants me to share his exact setup but I will say its a Cordova Research 2700kv motor on 6s.

Question for you Phil, I was using Onroader1s' 4 cell today on the Monster X I got from you and I was on my way to make a very fast pass, and in the process of coming back at me for second speed run w/ the car, the deans connector came unsoldered from the battery leads/battery side themselves. Am I looking at the motor, Castle 7700kv or the MMX that gave me unfortunate event? Maybe solder point couldnt handle the power being pulled possibly? Trying to get this thing in the upper 120s

I have saw JoBoriaRacing go 144 and he said he was using stock diffs with no shims.
