Default AE Touring Car shocks

Simple question:

Apparently alot of drivers replace the orange o-rings found their shocks; they tend to swell after a good while of racing.

I replaced mine with the low friction x-rings by associated. My only question, do these need to be replaced at all or are they forever in there never to worry about.

How often do people replace these things?
