Mine went together easy enough and will possibly be run this coming Saturday on a small asphault track. I have a pair of D07's for SpecGT and 17.5TC here so not sure what I will run the Ghost in. It may end up being my SpecGT in the long run.

I built my EVO Ghost RM and it went together great. I will be running it in mod so I'll be testing it's durability. The kit so far seems to be an excellent value and the build quality definitely is on par with my Tamiya kits for a lot less money.

I got some time to take the car out this weekend for testing and with box setup and USGT specs it was awesome, it was well planted though had some understeer so I moved the upper shock Front & Rear mounts to the middle holes which fixed that I think I want the car setup the way it is right now which I changed the 1000wt diff oil out for 3000wt I may go to 5000wt though just to give the car some more push since I am running 21.5.

2 things I had to adjust the front & rear belt tension a couple notches tighter it was a hair loose and rolled over. also be sure that if you locktite the ball ends to the straight stud set screw you also locktite the set screw as it will back out other than those things the car was great, it was able to hang with my friends Sakura with a 17.5 in it he turned it down some to the point we just had gearing difference so we could play chase, tag, and follow the leader which was a good time but made the test runs more like real racing since we were just practicing.

We were on a big 8th scale asphalt track so our lap times were 29-31 seconds that was the range, I felt as though had I had the car in a race, which we have the ROAR Regional Asphalt Championship coming up this weekend coming at that track, I would be in the top 3 easily, which will be good for me since in 17.5 I would be lucky to make the A main with our level of competition.

I was finally able to give my evo a proper race day and all I can say is , WOW. The car was fast, had excellent grip coupled with tons of steering. I ran it in our SS/VTA/USGT class. Essentially a 25.5 class with 3 tire options (VTA, X-patterns and the ride USGT tire). Looking for something new, I opted for a new set of Gravity RC USGT premounts. These tires are, in my opinion, superior.

My set was almost box stock except for these changes:

1.5 deg camber-F 2.5 deg in the rear
White front roll bar.
.5mm shims under the suspension mounts at both ends.
6mm hex up front
#3 hole on shock tower F & R

every other adjustment/spring/spacer was box stock.

How's everyone else doing with their cars?

Nice to hear Big Al.
I am also very satisfied with the Ghost Evo Carbon. Easy to drive and lots of steering. That helped me win the Danish Championships outdoor

I forgot to mention that my setup was for an indoor carpet track.

If I already didn't have a bunch of spare parts for my TC6.2's, I'd be all over that $299 Evo RM, what a great deal on an excellent car.

I recently picked up a new, shrink wrapped, VBC GhostEVO kit and I am doing the build hoping to be done in time for race #1 at my club's new race facility.

Everything in this kit comes sealed in numbered plastic bags matching the build steps similar to my Schumacher Mi5 build and looked good. I'm half way through the build and find that one of the four CVD's is missing the pin retainer spring (B-02-VBC-0027), and now I found that I have three 4.98mm and one 3.74mm swivel pivot tubes (B-02-VBC-0033) used in the front C-hubs.

Terrible quality control from VBC considering all these parts are individually shrink wrapped in separate packages. I sent VBC Racing USA a message through FB, but no reply. I checked my spares from Tamiya and Spec-R but nothing fits.

I am stuck at steps 21/22 and definitely not impressed with VBC right now.

Sorry to hear that SteveM, I have now built 5 VBC kits over the last 2 1/2 years & not had an issue with any missing parts, hope VBC USA sorts this small issue out for you

I've since found a set of CVD's from Spec-R that fit and rummaged through all my parts bins to find alternate pivot tubes that I will try. I've never had QC issues like this even with economy kits.

Thanks for this email address. I have sent several messages through FB and even used the online contact form at VBC Racing USA but not a single reply.

I since bought the VBC zero offset clamping alloy wheel hexes and these came with the wrong bolts. They are useless as sold and I'm out $15 and not impressed again.

** Email sent to VBC 28 January 2016 **

I understand your frustration... My kit was missing the complete front end and could not get on with the build.

But that said, through that email adress they helped me perfectly and send the missing bags with Express freight. I hope they can solve your issues since VBC USA seems like a pain in the ass...
