Roar approval foot dragging...

Why does it take so long for roar to put approved equipment on there lists?

Skiddins 04-02-2015 05:45 AM

Are you sure whatever the item is, that it has actually been approved, or just sent to them?

howardcano 04-02-2015 05:52 AM

Maybe it hasn't even been sent for testing.

What piece of equipment prompts the question?

jlfx car audio 04-02-2015 07:06 AM

Let's just say I know more than most about this particular motor, been sent in,documented, approved, photographed, just waiting for someone to hit the "add to list button. So I'm told by someone that is in the select crowd...

robk 04-02-2015 07:34 AM

Why don't you just say what motor it is?

jlfx car audio 04-02-2015 07:38 AM

Trinity D4 21.5 1s

robk 04-02-2015 08:23 AM

thank you..now something can be done

Rick Hohwart 04-02-2015 08:45 AM

Someone in the select crowd might not be telling you the entire truth.

jlfx car audio 04-02-2015 08:59 AM

This is possible also.

Everything I have seen has led me to believe these motors are approved and legal for use. I have not seen anything saying otherwise. The same issue exists with the Orca RX3 motors, I've seen recently that they were approved and legal for use and would be added to the approved list. Looking at the list contradicts that statement for both the Orca and Trinity motors.

Trinity Part number 1703RM which is the 21.5 Short stack is on the approved list on the ROAR forum. Its been on there on the 2nd page for a little while now (March 17th to be exact).

The ORCA RX3 21.5 I am unsure of as it has not been listed yet. All the other ORCA RX3 motors are listed. I suppose I'll send an email to the lab on that one to see what is going on with it.

Thanks for clarifying.

ORCA changed the motors and submitted new 17.5 and 13.5 motors before approval around the end of the year. I do not know if the 21.5 was re done/re submitted as well. I do not have an inspection report or availability report, so I would have to assume they did not send a new motor for inspection.

21.5 is not popular in all areas, so it is less of a priority for approval for some companies.

Rob King's attention to these matters is the #1 reason to spend $35 and join ROAR.

The #2 reason, is that he's quite skilled with a Bo Staff.
