Thanks for the pics RCOLDMAN it looks good. Nice work. It looks more permanent than I thought it would be. Like not being able to change back to the FM module quickly.

There's probably quite few guys like me and run both. I have 1 cars and receivers for most of them. Now, all of new cars get a spektrum, but my old cars stay with what has been working. I just replace as needed.

Have anyone tried this mod on a EX10 Helios?
It looks like it could be done.

Hey thanks for all the tips guys, I just finished my 3PK and it looks great. I noticed one of my Spectrum modules has a longer antenna wire than the other. This might be pretty hard with the short antenna lead. I also sanded off the antenna mount off the spectrum module and filled it with epoxy to give the top a nice smooth finish and used shoo goo to hold the spectrum antenna in place

Help!

I was all set to do this mod on my 3PK and just couldn't get the cover off.

I got the disk off, the five screws in the bronze part, the one under the grip and the two in the base. The bottom half seemed fully unhooked but the top wasn't budging. It seemed to be firmly attached to the display.

I'd like to move the antenna, but not at the expense of breaking my 3PK.

Does anyone have any advice on how to take it apart? This seems like a very simple mod... if only I were smart enough to take the case off...

I appreciate any tips ya'll may have...

Steve

You must use a small screw driver to seperate the screen from the body of the controller.

I just got done doing it to my Helios. All I have to say is it's not for the faint of heart. I'm sure if you were to send it in for warranty this would definitely void it.

Thanks for everyone's help. RCOldMan in particular was really helpful with photos and all.

I got mine done yesterday and it looks/works awesome. I agree that this isn't for the faint of heart, but I love the results.
