Default Team Orion GP3700 Matched packs... good?

Just wonder how good are the Team Orion Gp3700 Team Packs. i was told they are 450s+, 1.190V+ and price is similar to the Pro-match 1.185 packs.. so wonder if they are really better than the pro-match ?

Team Orion uses a different matcher, so it is hard to compare numbers. There isn't much point in comparing numbers even between matchers that do use the same matcher.

Team Orion and other use pretty much the same test equipment although each may use some minor modifications they fell will produce more accurate and precise results.

What is different between matchers is the voltage enhancement systems. Team Orion's is zapper and procedures are unique and prove to be very effective.

Rick H - "pretty much the same equipment" - sounds like a lawyer talking .

Do Orion use Turbomatchers as their labels show a lot of figures that are not normally associated with CE matchers. The labels still look like the old Lavco system.

A simple "yes they use Torbomatchers" or "No they use something else" would clarify the situation to racers

I was under the impression that Orion still used the Lavco matchers, but I'm no expert on battery matchers so I could be wrong.

I bet we don't get a straight answer on this one.

The Orion site says that they use Lavco but the site only shows 3300 cells so it could be out of date.

Yellow 15,
get the team eXpress batteries. Great cells at probably half the price and better still they sponsor a New Zealander.

Darren, yeah i've just checked out the team eXpress batteries. Looks quite good but their website is a bit.... unfinished as i can't find out info about shipping...etc.. but as you said, they sponsor a NZ driver so i'll definitely consider them even they are slightly more expensive than the Team Orion and Pro-match batteries i'm looking at.

Keep in mind that promatch charges at 5 amps while most other matchers have moved up to 6 amps. Sa promatch pack with the same voltage numbers as another pack matched at 6 amps will have slightly higher voltage when charged at the same rate. I think that would also make it look like the promatch pack has more run time while a pack matched at 6 amps with the same numbers should have more.
