TC tires
Hi guys, I am looking at a few tire options/brands for asphalt racing in the hot temps of Australia. Looking for a tradeoff between price/performance and durability.
I have used RIDE tires for a while (RE/REx range) and while they are quite cheap and durable, just don't have the grip sometimes. I have also used sorex 32R tires and love the grip, but they don't last very long and are quite expensive. I am considering other options like Muchmore RUSH/Absolute, Nosram VTEC 30x, Team Powers, Solaris. Anybody got any recommendations? Would be helpful if you've tried them before and could give a comparison. Thanks! |
Sorex 36r will get the job done:nod:. I don't think anything out there compares to sorex. If you are above 100f, than maybe 40r.
|
I've been running MuchMore Absolutes here in Canada for years and they are quite good. We rarely see track temps above 30C though, so I can't speak to their performance at high temperatures.

The team powers 36r are really good. They were a couple of years ago at the Reedy TC race. It gets pretty hot in California.

hmm our track temps regularly get into the high 50's (celcius) so i'll give the team powers a try maybe

Panaracer :)
Panaracer 28 combined with their green inserts....Still after 30+ runs modified on a fast and open track they look like new... |

I have been racing in Arizona for about a year now and the solaris 35's work great for me and i can usually get a good month to 2 months out of them. Track temps in the summer are high, i have seen it up to 130, during the midday during the summer. Others at the track like to use sorex as well. The muchmore's are a good tire if you want longevity, although you do loose some traction with that.

Team Powers rims are fragile. If you have boards / pipes, look elsewhere.

I am a recent convert to Team Powers tires. Ive been using the 34's but mostly because I can get them unmounted. Great traction on the parking lot and they last long enough.

What surface are you guys running on. I have tried a few sets of TP 36's on high grip asphalt, they were cheap but didn't last long.
Insert was ok, I didn't have any issue with the rims but the rubber went off very quickly ie 3-5 runs and they turned to rocks. |

Can you provide a link to the temp ranges.
I have tried to look it up but there is no mention of temps on TP website. |
