The LHS just got some 1/12th tires in from Contact. They are way cheaper than jaco's, but how do they compare against Jaco? Faster or slower?

One problem I have with Contacts is the front rims are very flexible. This can make cutting them on the truer difficult as the final product may not be entirely round... other than that, the have good performance.

Rears seem fine, but if you hit anything the fronts will no longer be round or the rim will split

You people must hit the front tires hard. I like the Contacts over the Jaco's. The only problem with rear rims is the nut driver that I use to adjust the diff barely fits.

I might have gone faster, didn't really notice. I liked the handling of the Contacts over the Jacos'

If the track has high speed corners, the normal white rim front Contact tires lack onpower steering. The rim is so flexible that it pushes due to that. For low grip and tight tracks, the front wheel problem is not a problem, can be a advantage...

The white rim tyres are good for "green" club race tracks, and the grey rim are better with the grip is up at a national race. The grey's are "similar" to Jaco.

Agreed on both counts. Big fan of the foam, not a fan of the wheel. Just touching a dot has caused a front wheel to crack during use. As stated in other posts, the rubber seems to work better on "greener" race tracks with the soft wheel, and better on grooved race tracks using the grey wheels.

The Contact foam on white 1/12 rims is good for low bite club racing on green carpet, but doesn't seem to fare as well when the groove comes up. The stuff of grey rims is Jaco foam.
